lol almost impossible to post anywhere as a new user anyway

It's just bizarre how most subreddits act like their posting requirements are some kind of state secret.

It's a major enough pain in the butt for those of us with experience manipulating the system to break in a new account, any genuine newcomer has no hope whatsoever.

Reddit could double growth if they neutered powerjannies and switched to AI-driven moderation. Axe karma requirements, stop mods from deleting threads and banning everyone who disagrees with them, and end automatic banlists for posting on forbidden subreddits. :marseymegaphone:

Even if the website was perfect, the users are annoying, too far left and everything is political

Jump in the discussion.

That can be fixed with AI too. Frankly the "everything is political" problem is directly caused by mods deciding to be political apparatchiks instead of dutifully cleaning it up.

Reddit should behave like a corpo and keep removing their bottom 1% least active accounts every month automatically.

AI-driven moderation

I'm convinced this is what Kick's real product is going to be eventually. They've got all the icky "toxicity" in one place ready to train.

I can't imagine what Reddit looks like to someone first experiencing it in 2025. I'm envisioning a new user attempting to submit a post (after scrolling through a bazillion correcttherecord posts) only for it to get auto-jannied over and over because it didn't follow some inane rule

Haven't really thought about this but yeah it's true. Reddit is borderline too complex of a system for the average normgroid anyways, I can't imagine anyone sticking around after getting dozens of messages from mods removing their comments for insufficient karma.

Imagine being a new user who doesn't have any history with the site. Some normie decides to go check out reddit.com and immediately sees a page filled with a thousand different anti-Trump subreddits, all openly calling for the death of anyone to the right of Stalin. How long would any normal person last?

I'm surprised they have any advertisers left after the election. Redditors have always been r-slurred strags but they've really upped the violent rhetoric and aren't trying to hide it.

New users don't even get to that point. They probably google some car issue and the top result is a reddit thread that fixes the issue. They create an account to post thank you or mention another issue they have and then get "your post has been removed" instantly and probably a permaban.

That would really be the only way you could use it. I was thinking more from the standpoint of some new user to other sites like Twitter or Facebook, where you go, create an account, and then they ask your interests to better tailor content to you. With Reddit you'd make an account and immediately be hit with militant anti-Trump commie shit. Definitely not a good look for attracting normies.

The last two threads I visited in /r/ancientrome were full of people whining about Musk. It's just an insane asylum at this point.

If rdrama managed to get reddit's advertisers to pull out because of their recent behaviour, it would be the single greatest troll this site ever pulled on reddit.

I think my ISP shifting to CGNAT has improved my chances of having alts a lot because there may be at a given time 5000 :marseytunaktunak:s using the same IP on reddit so they can't IP Ban

I follow a simple formula these days and been maintaining a lot of alts

1. Edge with the Forget about this site extension

2. Perma Banned? Click Forget about this site and create a new account with email from TempEmail sites.

3. Go to !redscarepod sub, type in the same old bullshit comments they always comment, ez 300 karma in a day

4. Create a new edge profile just for that account and login in that account on reddit

5. if you want to comment using that account, edge has this feature of open link as - Profile and then copy paste rdrama comments for max seethe

6. Re use profiles for different accounts as they eventually get permad because I comment some gigachud shit from here :marseytroublemaker:

By far the easiest way is to go for default subs like /r/askreddit or /r/AITA, sort by rising, then comment the dumbest thing you can think of. Catchphrases like "frick around and find out" are a safe bet. What works the best though are inaccurate and banal observations/tips about human behavior that would fool neurodivergent people. The goal here is absolutely minimal nuance, do not make them think about when/if it applies. E.g.

>If my wife is mad at me, I immediately go and find some housework and do it for her. This always calms her down, and then we have a calm discussion about what is going on.

>If you get a bad performance review, ask your boss what are 2 specific things you can do to get better. If they give vague answers, explain what "atomic habits" or "SMART goals" are and ask for these.

>The best way to find places to eat when travelling is to ask your waiter what they're favorite restaurants are. Then, repeat this process throughout your trip.

Make like 10 of these comments and you will have 1000+ karma immediately. If it fails but you have enough to make posts, find another source and repost something from a year ago from /r/TIL

Political shit can be an easy way to get upmarseys but I would not recommend it. These people spend more time thinking about drumpf than you probably spend working, and you have to use the right lingo and follow the right trends. There can be some cause du jour that you are completely unaware of and if you event hint at it you will get downmarseyd or banned, and they are on the lookout for chuds (or worse, grillers) in lib clothing. Also you need to know what is not happening, what is happening but good, what we can't do anything about, what never happened in the first place. These things change day to day and if you get it wrong you get dogpiled.

If you can get it right what will get you the most upmarseys is armchair psychology about republicans. Use as many words as possible to say that "they are conservative because they are bad" and absolutely nothing else. There is no need to find studies or come up with evidence or anecdotes.

The following is a good example:

>Did you ever move to a new city as a kid? Remember how everything felt unfamiliar, you had a new school, a new house, a new neighborhood. You probably felt anxious, what if I don't make new friends? What if I don't make the sports team? Now imagine this kind of anxiety happening all the time. See, imagine a world in which gay people can get married, black people can become president, poor people are taken care of. Sounds pretty good right? But for republicans, this is the "new city." When they saw Barack Obama as president, they think "isn't this guy supposed to be washing dishes?" See, that's not what happened "back home". You probably begged your parents to let you go back home at some point. This is where "make america great again" comes from. However, you're probably grown up now and moving means more opportunities, new friends, a new start. Republicans never grew past that stage.

I know this post is dead but I am typing this out to copy+paste later

Other formulas:

>Find a post where someone is from <country> and make whatever joke about it is popular on reddit (e.g. british museum, straighest man in greece). Any black majority country is a no-go. Middle east and Latin America are risky. The more tired the joke is the better. They don't want to be amused, they get more enjoyment from predicting what someone will say and patting themselves on the back for getting it correct.</country>

>Literally just reply to one of the top comments and rephrase the original but dumb it down. If they upmarseyd it once, they will upmarsey it again.

>Usually avoid as much nuance as possible but if you can add some very obvious "but" to a highly upmarseyd comment, do it. E.g. "but sometimes you can frick around and not find out too, just putting this out there"

In general:

>Whatever you do be as uncreative as possible. As I mentioned earlier, they want to feel smart by predicting what people are going to say, if you say something unexpected that makes them feel dumb and they will get angry.

>I can't emphasize this enough, minimize nuance. As in the og redditor's tractatus logico-philosophicus, the world divides into atomic facts. Learn all these atomic facts and you learn everything.

>Longer is better, more substance is bad. Do not make them think too much, but give the impression that you are saying something substantial.

>They are even dumber and more neurodivergent than you think, even if you take this into account.

>This applies to the "patrician" subs like redscarepod too. Perhaps even more on these.

Yup. My wife has like a 10+ year old account that she hardly uses but the few times she did she would post in like weddingplanning or interior design help and would get her questions removed because she didn't do it in some particular way that would require you to consult the wiki on the sidebar.

Reddit with its legions of busybody :marseytrain: jannies have turned subreddits into a shittier and gayer version of stackoverflow that nobody asked for.
