Is amazon just a giant drop shipping scam at this point?

Ive started checking Ali for every item I'm about to buy from Amazon and the same item is always on there for less than half of the cost.

Yes mostly. Amazon used to be the cheapest option especially for more obscure purchases but they're crazy expensive now. I needed a certain type of boot laces for my work books and they were 11 dollars on Amazon.

Out of curiosity I looked them up on the website of the company that makes them and they linked me to a brick and mortar store that had them for 3 bucks
