The funniest thing has been some of the biggest Americucks, even on this site, now having to act like the most unifying Eurofederalists. If something comes of this this will be my face
but considering the current whinging is in no way material (actual opposition to US socio-economic hegemony on the continent) but personal (opposition to Trump and his chuds) nothing will happen and the continent's "leaders" will hope and pray to just wait out the current literally Hitler US president and get back to good old Atlanticism when he's gone.

Fair enough but if it's about hits to the single market hollowing out the Rhine based industrial core of the Union over this r-slurred war certainly belays the seriousness of that point. Especially when, at least for the talking heads, pivots to China seem to be the most popular idea in counter.
Anyway as I said I'll soy to high heavens if something does happen but whenever negative actions are taken by the US towards the continent the plan is always to either wait it out or cope and accept it. What has changed now is how "crass" the person giving the orders is.

That's what I'm saying. There is no plan there's just r-sluration. If they were serious about an American decoupling the attempts to screw China for the US' Pacific ambitions would be quickly ceased. At least in the short term while a reanalysis of the situation is launched.

Its not about screwing China tbh there's just nothing like their economy, the way the state subsidizes production and scale of manufacturing. It was scary when they were at $5k/capita, its terrifying now they're at 15k. Any country aspiring to have any production in house must go against China. And China has grown large enough to point where they take tariffs as an offense, instead of taking it in their stride as middle powers do.
