As someone who watched some Danny Phantom as a kid there was this black chick who would sometimes show up and also hunted ghosts. And it was setup like they were rivals ish and it looked like they might start dating and whatnot. But afaik they never actually did. She was like always relegated to being a side character in the end. I think. Tbh idk I only watched the occasional episode when it was on TV at a friend's house lol. But I think they are complaining about how a white MC will sometimes have a romance teased with a black girl but it's always rugged in the end and the black girl never really becomes one of the main cast.

In Invincible they race swapped the main characters girlfriend Amber from white to black. In the comics she was basically a neutral filler character to delay Invincible dating the other superhero girl, but in the show they made her a completely unreasonable b-word that everyone disliked.
