I remember reading somewhere that lions do this a lot because they're lazy and want to frick and lionesses are usually too much of a hassle and only want to mate in certain circumstances

Lioness only want to mate when they are in heat. They also hate it and will attack and claw and bite the male lion every time its done. When they are in heat they want to do that hundred times a day. If the male lion doesnt want to mate she will attck him until he will. So imagine its not as much fun for the male.
