The founding fathers never wanted a pure democracy or the average person to get to directly elect leaders.
However, many of the founding fathers despised or were against slavery. It's difficult though because they were rich and their lifestyles were tied into it.
Nobody is givi g up their cheap clothing or phones though, so you can't really judge. You could spend an extra $40 for a t shirt not made in a sweat shop, instead u get a $10 t shirt in exchange for the sweatshop workers being worked like an animal.
