Conscription never works. It just kills young poor working class men in conflicts that they shouldn't be involved in. The wars of the future will be fought from distance with drones and AI controlled weapons systems.

No. Mandatory conscription would just be used as a propaganda tool by Russian assets.
What Europe needs to do is to wake up national pride, to proactively call out the enemy (Russia) and instill the will to resist Russian advances. Not only in military sense, but in whichever way possible.
Conscripted military is an illusion of power. Case in point - Russian army.
If there is a will to fight and resist, weapons training can be done in matter of weeks. If there is no will, the size of conscription force doesn't matter anyway.

This cope is my favorite. They're fighting a "war of the future" right next door and it's turned into WWI even with the drones. Fancy technology and weapons systems are expensive and time consuming to produce and using them is way faster than making them.
