Wait until you hear about the change of rules of who walks ahead in Afghanistan ... (75)

I mean that one is pretty universal and understood in my circles. Opening doors, pulling out chairs, following behind if you're driving separately somewhere, it's all basic stuff to me. But here is the deal, most women I've dated don't care about it because most don't do it. (133)

It seems like the list is growing and there is no limit to the list... I mean we could convene a group of women and come up with 200 new rules for you to follow as well if you want to be classified as a gentlemen... (-27)

I dated a girl like that for a while, expected me to open her door, slide in her chair, walk on the roadside, flowers etc.At first i was a little thrown off, figured she was gonna be one of the typical "trophy wife" kinda girl that would expect the world from male traditional roles, without reciprocating, but i found out pretty quick that she really wasnt, she was rather traditional herself.Made me food everytime i came over, wouldnt allow me to help with the dishes. Stood up before me to start with breakfast. She really knew how to make me feel like her man. Darn, didnt even know i missed her as much until i wrote this (57)

Oh well you got lucky on that one... we dont get that these days we get the modern feminist who expects the traditional male chivlary but nothing of the sorts you mentioned from her end. (-28)

Not only is chivalry dead. Basic social awareness is dead. Giving even a modicum of a shit about your neighbor, or in fact anyone, is dead. It's possible the girl was just playfully making conversation. If she was serious, then she confirmed her own mental illness. Eject.PS. There's a huge "Etiquette" manual by an author named Emily Post. Basic manners and shit. Pointing out a breach of etiquette is in fact, itself a breach of etiquette. E.g. taking someone to task for not holding a door for you is probably a worse violation of etiquette for not holding the door. Since it's more uncomfortable. Obviously post-pandemic, every man, woman and child for himself culture, 2025 US frick everyone get stacks culture - worrying about "etiquette" in this post apocalyptic dystopian nightmare is comical. Have your own values and live by them. Let the crazies do what they will. (1)

I mean ya if there are puddles where you live I guessโ€ฆ I live in a city that has drainage so there are no puddlesโ€ฆโ€ฆ. And the real threat does not come from bicyclist or little puddles either. Like I said it's the murders in the alleys so why do you want to expose someone you love to murders? Makes no sense. I still be that must incidents in nyc come from the alley side whether it be abandoned building, hangout spot or whatever. (-1)

I have already said this in another reply, but we can all see that you learned that alley/murder argument from someone else in this thread, so you reusing it like it's your own epiphany that spurred your own philosophy on this scenario is kind of laughable/sad.Many cities which have drains still get puddles, no? What utopian city that you live in has perfect drains, no puddles, but apparently also violent murderers hiding in alleys? You sound like you are just making things up, sentence-by-sentence.Yes, some incidents come from the building side, but if there is no immediate traffic and shit (aka deep night), I also walk slightly behind my date/wife, so I can see her and people approaching at all times. However, during most hours, there are many more bikes, people, and cars splashing shit on the street side of things. Bikes crash often, especially in crowded cities, so I am not sure why you think that is some weird scenario. Much more likely, I can block a crashed bike than a car. (3)

No I literally did. Hard fact. It's because the girl I was with demanded that I get her flowers every week. I swear on my life she told me she literally wanted to always have flowers in her apartment at all times. She was extremely abusive though and definitely a freak case. I did it for a while but it was quite taxing and expensive and that's how I came up with my own request about the lobsters to try and bring some equality to it. (1)

Man I've been in SEVERAL abusive relationships. SEVERAL. I get being mad and hurt, but at some point broGO TO THERAPY QUIT BEING AN R-SLURED LADYGARDEN. (1)
