The swelling went away a long time ago. The tendon is finally starting to stretch out so my left leg is almost as long as the right one now, and I can even walk around semi-normally now. But I've still got to be very careful not to trip over my own foot since it's paralyzed and tends to kind of dip downward.

Doesn't matter if only 10% of the left is "woke", because that 10% will silence the remaining 90% through whatever threats. Look at the transgender sports issue to see its most toxic manifestations - letting mtfs play in women's competitive sports is overwhelmingly unpopular for obvious reasons, but any left-leaning person who questions this position is aggressively attacked and targeted for cancellation. The fact that the woke extremists get to dictate the Overton window on many issues is in fact a large part of the problems they cause.

EDIT: Sorry for splitting this into multiple posts, it was just that long and reddit wouldn't let me post it all in one comment. I was raised Republican/Conservative and Christian. After moving out of my home for a federal job in DC and living on my own in my mid 20s (I was lucky my college and first few jobs were close to home so I could save money), I started learning the left wasn't this great big boogieman I was led to believe. Some of them are still rather bonkers, don't get me wrong, but what group doesn't have those?Now, I'm by no means a Democrat, and I'm still religious, but I wouldn't call myself a Republican anymore either.
