Markets like long-term stability and America looks really unstable, that's why DAX is up 8% YTD and SP500 is down 8% YTD. The dollar is getting fricked too at -6% YTD. Even the bong's FTSE100 index is green YTD.
Non-US investors invest a shitton in US markets because they are (were) relatively stable in terms of the government not doing insane shit relative to the rest of the world. If that trend reverses in the long-term that looks really bad for US equities.
