Historically, I've mostly written in r/TheMotte and r/theschism, where I cheat by posting to shared audiences who are there for many more people than just me, both because I like attention and because I like being one of a community rather than a solo writer poking around for fans. Most of my pieces end up just hanging out in comments sections over there. I estimate I get around 1000 readers on those ones. My piece on rdrama is my current peak in public visibility, with around 20k views. On the occasions I post to Medium, I usually expect to get between 500 and 2000 views, mostly via the above communities.
so - do I have many readers? Not compared to more serious writers, but enough to get good discussion and have a good time
