[TW: Old Furry Drama] Throwback to when furries sexually harassed Old Spice on twitter

On the eleventh of August, 2017 Old Spice unveiled a new and improved version of their Wolfthorn mascot. This new mascot being their old one, but anthropomorphized and dressed in new radical clothing. Along side a new commercial, Old Spice created posts on twitter and Instagram featuring the redesign.

Furries, the rabid dogs we are, quickly took notice of this new addition to Old Spice's repertoire and shared our own thoughts on the situation.

Replies like these were bound to get noticed by the company, and soon after Rad Talkin' Wolfthorn was unveiled, he was quickly swept under the rug. His commercial was deleted from Youtube and the character itself never mentioned again.

It's worth mentioning that this all came about around the time of the Tony the Tiger incident on twitter, so it's possible all of this was a ploy by the Old Spice Company to garner attention (and money) from furries and bait them into freely advertising their products. In which case, it worked perfectly as planned. Artists wanting to cash in on the sudden popularity of the character got to work almost immediately, giving us many a piece of fine art.

But, if it was all a ruse for attention, why would they allow it quickly fizzle out? Shouldn't they have sperged about it on twitter and caught media attention like Kellogg's did with Tony?
