Here's what I did. I called my congressional representative (R) hoping to leave a message but instead his staff picked up. I awkwardly stumbled my way through why I think Elon Musk is insanity. Finally, and my personal fave thing I did today, I rolled down my car windows on the way back from school drop off and BLARED the FDT rap by YG & Nippsey Hussle. I made one VT girl's day when she smiled at me because of the song and then I literally yelled "frick Donald Trump" at the top of my lungs. She started laughing in her car. I also made quite an impression on a car full of frat bros who probably voted for him.

The owner of the pitbull was charged for owning a dangerous dog at large and threatening public safety. Armed with the police report, I am now hiring an attorney and filing a lawsuit against the pibbles owner.

Also, I contacted the owner of the property whom I've known for decades. The tenants were not permitted to have a dog on the rental property. To avoid a second lawsuit, targeting the property owner, the landlord is evicting the tenants for violating the lease agreement.

I have no idea what the frick is going on at BPB lately. It used to have a stronger relationship to trolling (remember #PitBullDropoff?) before evolving into paranoid true crime foidery (would you rather meet a man or a pit bull in the forest?). At this point it just seems to be a place for surreptitiously getting off to animal violence. Lots of "pit bull gets kicked in the head by a horse" type videos. Y'all remember the smash hit One Punch Man (OPM) in the mid to late '10s? The persiflage of the entire shounen genre as an invincible but bored superhero defeats all enemies with just one punch? Filled with other nonsensical characters like the strongest man on earth who's essentially the weakest man alive or the guy whose basically just a male feminist (male feminist) in real life? Anyways, that shit is still going strong but I've to elaborate here, OPM is based on a shitty drawn but sovlful webcomic by ONE, which in turn got adapted into an official (tm) manga with much better art by MURATA. The thingy got picked up as an anime and rose to immense popularity. Naturally, the original tone of the comic has been lost as it essentially became what it was making fun of - but that's a given for japanese "writers" as they're all whiny or talentless hacks or a combination of the aforementioned - except Fukumoto he's bae(sed). Anyway, OPM has always had a terrible release schedule but lately it's gotten so disgusting that even long-time fans are dropping the series.

You may notice the Retconned tag after some chapters. And yes, it's exactly like you are thinking. He draws those chapters, releases them, and then later decides he isn't happy with the chapter (or the entire arc) and revisions all of it while making slight adjustments. Anyway, the latest chapter is a redraw of an already redrawn chapter originally released in 2023 featuring a filler side story of a filler arc. So basically the entirety of chapters released in 2024 are retconned - people don't like this ... at all:

I love OPM, I love all the stupid drama over which wiafu is best (they're cartoons and y'all are weird), I love the characters and story, I love the art. But the thing is we are getting a product for free here, and early. We don't have to wait for the Manga to get released, we don't have to wait for the finalized product to be able to read what's going on. We literally get a look behind the curtain as this is being made. And part of that process is fixing work that they felt needed to be fixed. Who's to blame? Murata? One? Who cares. It's their work. I'll complain about redraws when I have to rebuy my physical mangas because there's an updated version. It's not done until it's been printed and released. It feels like people are acting privileged and entitled because One released his content online, and now they assume they deserve access to finalized and completed content at our convenience. It will be done when they say it's done. Can we just enjoy what we have in the meantime?

I'd argue that trying to pretend that deleting 14 month of progress out of nowhere is completely fine is far more insufferable.

This isn't a look behind the curtains. It's officially released chapters that also gets official translations. No other series even remotely com close to this mess so of course there is nothing wrong about pointing it out.

why make us wait a whole year for a promised move forward in this story and then throw it all away? Its not us being ungrateful but if Murata truly wants quality for this manga he ought to take his time rather than rush and give us half-assed butchered storylines and retcon it constantly

What you don't understand is you're not the audience.

He is getting it right, and the version he wants is what will actually make it into the volume.

He is the audience. Fans like him are the reason why OPM got an official English physicals in the first place. His opinion will be valid if he says it in Japanese or so? That's just silly. He's still a supporting fan, and he could buy the physical manga just like any Japanese fan could. That's a narrow way of looking at it. Every fan contributes to the series' success.

Ngl the constant redraws have killed my excitement for this series. Doesn't help that I personally think the story gets worse with each version (just my own opinion)

Simple redraws or changes to the pacing is one thing, but changing the literal plot or direction is too far. It feels like that they don't have a vision for the manga and is just drawing whatever they feel works, which they then don't stick to and subsequently and in my opinion wastes my time and attention.

OPM is genuinely starting to feel like an afterthought with both of its artists at this point.

I know Murata has that animation project he's working on, and ONE seems occupied with Versus and Bug Ego.

Deleting an entire year's worth of chapters, after having already done a complete 180 on the direction of the climax of the most pivotal arc of the series, is actually mental.

What's the point of reading any of this if it can just be retconned whenever ONE or Murata feel like it?

And the people that are on maximum strength copium trying to justify this shit by saying it's some sort of meta-level 4th wall interference by God to prevent his will from being hindered by the plot are just hilarious. Yes, it's totally that and not just blatant mismanagement and confusion by the creators as to where they want to take the narrative.

Whenever humans want to pass judgement on their quality of life, they look to their left and right, to the people above and below them, to their children's generation and how much better their live would be than their own. However, all these people fail to look in the direction that matters, which is backwards at the hellscape that they have developed and been born beyond.

For the average human alive today, they are not expected to work till the age of 18, surviving on free gibs for the first 18 years, and expect to retire by 65, which gives the average person 7 more years of not having to worry about working every day to stay alive. In total for 25 years out of 72 years of existence, the average human doesn't have to work to keep themselves alive. 33% of their lives spent just chilling, and even in the working ages, they get two days out of the seven days of the week off. Which is 13.42 additional years of time spent not working. That is a total of 38.42 years of a persons life, or more than 50% of a persons life where they are not working through a day to support themselves, and we aren't even including the vacation time here.

Meanwhile, we look at the animal kingdom, and you are lucky if half your progeny survive to adulthood. You drink dirty water and raw food that shortens your lifespan to a few decades at most, generally 20-30 years time if you are very lucky. Every day is a struggle. Energy needs to be conserved 24/7. You are either acquiring short term resources until those run out and you have to hunt or scavenge again, or you are resting and conserving energy for the next hunt or scavenging mission. You do not have the time, intelligence, or resources to make things better, to make things easier. You simply are born into the life you will live and you die with nothing changing for those that will come after you.

It is only in the human realm that the worst deal you can get is that 10 years down the line things will be better. Even in your worst case scenario, quality of life moves from complete shit to slightly less shit, and your kid will always grow up with a slightly better shirt than you did, even in the worst scenarios, for 90-99% of mankind.

Yet all we hear day in and day out is how bad life is. How meaningless existence is. How everybody is being taken advantage of every single step of the way. How there is nothing worth working for.

All of it is bullshit. The whining of manchildren who cannot appreciate how good they have it, because they can only compare their life to their neighbors and their betters, and live every day insecure in the knowledge that somebody better exists out there.

That is why the west so often relies on foreign labor and immigrants now, because the third worlder is the last group of humans left who can appreciate living in the developed society enough to agree to "suffering" through the lesser paradise where things will still continue to keep getting better for his children over time.

Meanwhile the average westoid is resentful of the best quality of life provided to him on the planet, where because of cost disease, he can flip burgers and still get paid 10x more than another person putting in the same skills and twice the effort in the third world. Providing the westoid with a far better quality of life. Is he grateful for it though? No. Never. Because all he knows is that there are people better than him on the planet. Incapable of embracing a utopia even when he was born into it, because he didn't get the throne.

This is the true tragedy of the modern times. A people living as the superior species on the planet with things getting better forever, but instead of finding joy and optimism in this stability, they only find a lifelong insecurity, forever left feeling like they can never be enough.

That is the tragedy of the developed world. An entire society drowning in the mental illness of lifelong insecurity, and it will be the death of them unless they make peace with their existence and accept that a forever improving life is good enough to be worth living, no matter what position you live it from.

Conclusion:

Be grateful for the life lived that will always end better than how it started. Be forever grateful for being born into times where you need not fight your own in a desperate bid to snatch the last slice of bread. Be grateful that you are born into times where you have the time to question the why of things rather than an entire life spent just surviving. Live your best life, and be free of guilt for it, for as long as the world moves forward, you are living a good life worth living.
