The reason we do not have psychic powers is that every single life form in existence has physic powers.

You as one man or woman might try to psychically influence another person to do things for you or fall in love with you, but their own psychic abilities are on the same level and cancel yours out.

Similarly small civilizations fall to big civilizations, and when bigger civilizations fall, it is due to everybody not believing in the same things.

For example - China on paper shouldn't be successful. Yet the more authoritarian they become, the more success they find themselves with. Because the Chinese people still believe in Chinese authoritarianism.

Now does this mean that humanity can compel the planet to suddenly be filled with trees that all grow healthy tasty swiss chocolate as sustenance?

No.

We cannot get swiss chocolate trees because the trees have their own psychic values and connections, and so does the planet and all other life on it.

Reality itself exists as a psychic phenomenon in all its sentient forms at all its layers, and thus, if you wish to psychically influence events, you must do so within the realm of possibility and in a way that others may be able to believe in and agree with as well.

This does not mean that you cannot do disagreeable things, the laws of physics and reason also exist in this reality. If you have a smarter idea it will have a higher likelihood of success.

What our psychic powers and their use means is that once we are on a positive path, flowing through it with a positive realistic sentiment acts as lubrication to the engine.

Like wishing on a dice hard enough may see you getting two-five extra correct guesses or perhaps even more depending on how high your success rate is, of the correctly guessed numbers than the baseline across a hundred people or machines that were just randomly throwing the dice.

Faith bends probability but it cannot break probability at our current day levels of psychic influence.
