She also touched another pet peeve of mine, telemedicine. We run this huge network of hyper local clinics but the issue is no doctor wants to work in some backwater village. Govt runs kind of an indentured labour system with graduates of govt med colleges where they have to serve some years there or pay off a bond, so these are run by fresh docs and perennially understaffed. We could have people with low level diplomas in diagnosis alongside telemedicine to solve this issue, bring over anyone with more serious issues to nearby urban centers(there'll be one within 100km of 95% of places). But noooo. Because then it'll appear like we're withdrawing healthcare from rural poors. Pisses me off.

Better than nothing no? I don't even know what I'd do if I got into a car crash 15km from home, I have two numbers of local ambulances but I'd probably be googling to find hospitals nearby if something happened further away. Its pointless expecting anything from govt.
