I had zero interest in seeing this the moment I found out it was a musical.
Tbh I think a lot of people don't realize it's a musical, I had a friend that wanted to go and I was surprised because he didn't seem like the type that's into musicals. When I told him that, he was like "What? A MUSICAL? HECK NO!"
I wonder how many people aren't going to realize this until they've already paid for their tickets.

I like musicals in person, in movies it just never seems to translate well. The only time I remember seeing a musical on TV that was good was some sci fi show where they were forced to sing, I don't remember the show but I thought that was funny and it made sense for the show.
