why is this dumb scrote taking out big loans for project cars? especially with such a good salary. seriously, 18% interest on that C6 vette loan, wtf, just buy a c4 or c5 neighbor.

Especially as a self-identified "car guy" - you'll get more enjoyment out of the gains you can eke from an older car

I have more fun in a lightly tuned Flex than I would in a high-strung Subaru.

This neighbor really got a GTI and a WRX as second and third cars

You'd think at least he'd pivot to something that's gonna be dangerous to others and not his wallet like a Mustang at that point

Non car guys have kinda crappy cars that they service at quick lube places

"Car guys" have expensive late model cars that they exclusively service at the dealership

Car guys have really crappy cars that they service in the Harbor Freight parking lot before trying to return the cowtools they used

On that note, what's the best way to figure out which one of my engine mounts is busted? My engine vibrates when I'm idling at stops and I'm pretty sure it's probably caused more damage since I've put off the repair for so long.

Look around with a flashlight- see if you can get the engine to wiggle around by jacking up the transmission and see if you can find the obviously loose or busted one. Cry bitter tears when you realize you will struggle to replace it without a hoist, 3 hands attached to long noodle arms, and a 4 foot long extendo bar on your socket

I still need a hoist to replace a single mount? Shit.

Just quit being a BIPOC and do them all.

Youre going to feel like a colossal r-slur when you spend hours doing moron surgery to replace a single mount and the thing still rattles afterwards.

I should've done the harbor freight trick. I've got a whole stack of automotive specialty cowtools that I've used once or twice.
