I know we have the 13:50 numbers for murder, but I'd love to see what the ratio is for petty fraud. I know PPP was basically a government slavery reparations program in all but name.

Interestingly, seems like she has her own limits. Frequent poster in /r/independentshanika which appears to be a place for black women to rant about other black women being too ghetto for them.

/r/independentshanika oh my word what a subreddit! I think it's based around pooping on some specific influencers who don't take care of their kids? I don't really understand any of it.

Do these people not know how credit cards work? How is this concept hard for them?

They don't want to understand. All they hear is "buy now, pay later" but only the first part.

I really dont understand how anyone gets stuck in a payday loan cycle for like 500 bucks. You can go open a credit card with a 500 dollar limit no matter how bad your credit is.

Because they're fricking r-slurred.

I knew someone doing this shit for the measly sum of $300 and I just gave him the $300 so he could get out of that shit because I couldn't imagine him not fricking up his life with a credit card and he used the $300 I gave him specifically to get out of his pay day loan cycle to buy a fricking Switch.

if you've totally nuked your credit you'll only be approved for secured credit cards, where the limit is equal to the amount you paid to open the card. So you'd need to have $500 to get that $500 limit card.

Holy shit that last one. "5% monthly fee aint that bad". Thats 300 a year over a 500 dollar loan :marseymerchantsoy:

It's kind of nuts, my credit card limits combine to like $600k and they're doing analysis of how to increase their payday loan capacity from $225 to $275. Literally like watching animals in a zoo, they live a completely different life.

The key one for me are the chime-like "get your paychecks two days early"

How bad are your finances that you need your paycheck two days early? What difference does this make besides sliding your defaulting schedule up two days, and making you dependant on Chime because you'll be overdue otherwise

That's how credit cards work.... :marseyconfused:

I fricking hate credit cards. Ive had a secured card for a year like a 680s credit score and I cant get a non shitty credit card since they all say I dont have enough non secured cards like wtf you get a secured credit card so you can build credit for a real one but you cant get a real one with a secured card???

>my credit is so shit i only have a secured card

>oh and ive only had it for one year

>i dont have other cards so my credit history is literally 12 payments max

>wtf why do the good cards not want to help me out and why is my score shit when account age is a massive chunk of my credit score?

You shouldnt have a secured card as a primary at this point, you should have a beginner, credit builder card but you're skipping steps to an actual card. Go apply for the citi double cash and enjoy 2% cash back for like 9-21 months until your score hits 720. You should also look into how your credit score is calculated and what you can do to quickly raise it (mostly utilization). Dont close your secured card, just stop using it permanently and move on to the double cash.

I don't think debit cards count.

Citi double cash, Chase Freedom, or the Costco credit card are all ez ways to build your credit

Run it up in the card, let it roll into next month, pay it off. I kept paying off my low limit credit card on the same day and my score barely went up. The one time i forgot to pay it until interest hit, my score went up by like 20 points.

Paying insane interest rates bc you think it will bump your credit score by a few points temporarily

Great idea :marseybigbrain: :marseybrainletclapping:

Depending on how much it is it would be a bad idea. Bro should just open another line of credit and bump up the total credit limit and keep the usage low. That would increase it more.

FICO is based somewhat on utilization. It cares about the balance your card reports on the end of the month, but always pay it off completely by the time your bill is due. Don't pay interest.

The best is all cards at 0% util but 1, at like 10-30%. You can micromanage this by partially paying off cards before they're due.
