And now I realize that I have fallen victim to propaganda because I have always heard that Obama and Biden were executive order crazy and did wild amounts of them. I assumed that might be somewhat exaggerated, but that they would still be up there instead of having a downright modest amount lol

I hate these fake butt lib comments that always appear.

"I used to be an uneducated hog person, but this reddit post enlightened me. Cmon fellow hogs, baske in the light with me"

Also you guys in this thread are stupid as usual. Trumps executive orders are stupid. FDR's literally saved the country and paved the roads we drive on nearly 100 years later. This obsession with little metrics like this is such small peepee energy.

the criticism was that Obama/Biden (and Bush) abused executive orders to expand power, not that number of them. Biden had a number of executive orders get shut down by the courts

Truman was too kitty (or more likely, to reliant on state dept compromised by commies) to help Chang and save millions, and then made Korea unnecessary attritional war because he was too kitty to threaten China with :marseymacarthur: (as IKE eventually did ending the war). Don't kittyfoot in Korea and actually threaten China with bombs (conventional and otherwise) when they send armies to Korea, instead of going "oh you're sending hundreds of thousands of your soldiers to kill ours, we won't drop a single bomb on you that would be ESCALATION :marseyscream:"

Maybe I'm just schizzing but it seems to line up with the behavior I'd do if I were trying to avoid historical humiliation in an era of increasingly anti-nuclear sentiment, a la Germany or Japan (even with the distinct advantage of not losing the war), by making Nagasaki and Hiroshima tragic sacrifices for the good of all and making the numbers whatever they needed to be.

on the bright side, they became an economic powerhouse and important ally

on the dark side, anime, denial of atrocities, and jap-washing of history

Truman had balls of steel

It wasn't even seen as ballsy at the time, simply a no-brainer. A fanatical empire was killing our soldiers -- why wouldn't we use every tool at our disposal? Truman didn't even order the bombing -- he approved an existing plan. It wasn't his biggest priority.

I'm probably being trolled here but the slope of the Trump line is pretty similar to the slope of the FDR line and both are notably much higher than modern presidents including his own first term. The other ordermaxxers were either wartime presidents or during the actual great depression, neither of which is approached by our current state of affairs no matter how much redditors talk about how now is the most important moment in history. Why can't you just chudpost about things where libtards are actually in the wrong, there's so many of them that I don't understand why posts like this get made. Executive orders have been a creep of executive power for decades.

The joke is that everyone compares drumpt to hitler so comparing him to FDR is basically required which is an easy example to demonstrate that executive overreach does not equal fascism and it's important to dunk on leftoids or rightoids for their hypocrisy, but leftoids more right now because I believe TDR was implicit to trump winning because it's so tiresome for centrists/moderates.

I think the real point that everyone is missing is how fascist/inspired by fascism FDR and his New Deal was and how much he and the people in his brain trust, like Rexford Tugwell (great name) openly admired Italian fascism.

Fascism is when you exceed a rate of 11.4 executive orders per month. Anything less than that and it's still democracy, but once you hit 11.5, it's Nazi Germany. Also, to be clear, FDR, Hoover, and Truman don't count because their lines are monochrome.

I'm pretty sure the Wall St. Crash didn't happen till October 1929- after which he decided to repatriate all the Mexicans for some reason- but what were all Hoover's executive orders about before then? Maybe he found a bunch of dead hookers Warren G. Harding had left stashed in the drywall of the White House.

Wikipedia called it "ethnic cleansing"

As part of his efforts to limit unemployment, Hoover sought to cut immigration to the United States, and in 1930 he promulgated an executive order requiring individuals to have employment before migrating to the United States.[207] The Hoover Administration began a campaign to prosecute illegal immigrants in the United States, which most strongly affected Mexican Americans, especially those living in Southern California.[208] Many of the deportations were overseen by state and local authorities who acted on the encouragement of the Hoover Administration.[209] During the 1930s, approximately one million Mexican Americans were forcibly "repatriated" to Mexico; approximately sixty percent of those deported were birthright citizens.[210] According to legal professor Kevin R. Johnson, the repatriation campaign meets the modern legal standards of ethnic cleansing, as it involved the forced removal of a racial minority by government actors.[211]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Hoover

From the source

To assist in the round-up, police conducted raids of public places, including the church La Placita on Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles, where persons of Mexican ancestry were known to frequent. 13 Olvera Street was not a tourist spot in the 1930s like it is today; then it was simply a meeting place for working class Mexicans near a church serving the Mexican immigrant and Mexican-American community. The people rounded up were often herded onto trains and buses or driven by social workers to the border. This was true for citizens by birth and those who had lawfully naturalized to become citizens.
