they said running doesn't do shit and shouldn't be for losing weight.
you say you agree that running is the best way to lose weight.
Learn to read r-slur. I am right about this. We both know it. If someone's goal is lose weight, such as the bulimic person I was talking about, not eating is a quicker option than lifting some cute twinky little weights for an hour.
Idk, it seems more likely that your body will instantly stop consuming resources to produce energy when you slow down. Same way it ramps up to maximum as soon as you move.
You can do over 1000 in one hour if you're good. If you're 70+ kg and run for a few months, you should be able to run 13-15 km in an hour. That's easily over 1000 if you run a route that's even slightly hilly, or on grass/gravel/dirt
You're right. I was thinking about someone who used to run taking a break then getting back into it. But for someone who never ran, 13 km in an hour is tough even with a few months of training
Heck, I used to be a decent cross country runner back in high school and after almost a decade of no serious running idk if I could bust out a sub 1hr 8-miler and I've been back running since January
I haven't trained for a race since high school. I run 5-6x a week now, mostly to reduce stress and stay in shape. I bet my mile and 5K times suck compared to high school, even if aerobically I'm about the same
It was 19:12, I believe. That was over a decade ago but my goal this year is to beat that time because I don't wanna admit that my teenage self was faster than my current self. (I'd also love to run a marathon and also hit 1000 miles this year )
My current 5k PR is 22:29
But it's so hot out and I haven't tried for a new PR in a few months since I've been focusing on distance and just steeling myself to the suffering that comes with summer running . I could probably run a sub 22 if I went for it in this heat but ideally when it cools down my times should (theoretically) skyrocket
Then idk what the problem is lol just run more. I never go over my calories on my long run days. Sometimes I end up way under because I'm not in the mood to consume ~2800 calories for dinner

A 5k run burns like 350 calories.
Just don't eat. It's the easiest way to lose weight.
Exercise should be for fitness. Not eating should be for losing weight.

Shit maybe I've run-maxxed too much because a small little 5k burning 350 calories is a steal in my eyes.
I forgot that @UncleAbortion is probably a fat cute twink who thinks 3.1 miles is a lot LOL (shouldn't have skimmed his comment )

Yeah 350 calories is likes two sodas? And you'd burn that amount in like 20 minutes worth of running? Shit seems like an easy decision

Yeah I prefer running so I can eat ice cream and frozen pizza. Staying under my calorie limit on days that I don't run is brutal

I've had to run less because of injuries and it's so brutal, I need to get back to it.

Not eating is for losing weight Exercise is for gaining weight. Frightening mass must be paired with uncanny speed

It activates your metabolism though, you'll lose more weight not eating than without exercise. Or so I heard from the pseudo-science consensus.

Metabolism is some bullshit lmao. You can't vary your resting metabolism like that, it only changes a lot while active.

Why don't these bitches just go run? Get good at distance running and you can burn over a thousand calories in 2 hours

13-15k in an hour after a few months of training is a bit of a stretch but I agree

I went from nothing to 10km in an hour, took 5 months of biweekly 5km runs. So it's possible

Yeah but 6.2 miles in an hour to 8-9 miles in an hour is a big leap

Kids who could run a 6 minute mile got scouted for cross country, I doubt the average burger has a chance at a 7min pace for multiple miles

Scouted for high school or college? I was running ~6:10 min/mile during my 5ks at my peak and I wasn't even one of the fast kids running sub 18s
