A woman who was allegedly filmed performing a s*x act on a live trout has appeared in court for the first time.

Catherine June Lee, 58, from the Hobart suburb of Howden, faces three charges in relation to bestiality material allegedly produced between February 2022 and January 2023.

She is charged with one count of possession of a bestiality product and two counts of making or reproducing a bestiality product

Dressed in a black suit, Lee appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday seeking for an adjournment without plea.

The magistrate granted Lee an adjournment until October, The Mercury reported.

Police allege the disturbing film showed Lee lying on a boat at sea, somewhere near Tasmania's south, as her male co-accused used a live brown trout to perform a s*x act on her.

The footage depicted 'sexual activity' between Lee and the trout, court documents allege.

Lee's co-accused, Ashley David Hallam, 55, faced court in May this year but is yet to enter a plea.

Hallam, from Dolphin Sands in Tasmania's south-east was charged with two counts of making or reproducing a bestiality product and three counts of possessing a bestiality product

The pair were arrested and charged by police in February 2023.

At the time, police reminded members of the public it is an offence to possess or distribute bestiality material.

Pretty milquetoast female/youth empowerment stuff at face value. The universal relatability of trifling nonsense seeming like the end of the world during your teenage years is, well, universally relatable. Everyone gets it, it's an utterly inoffensive and guaranteed pop hit. What frustrates me to no end every time I hear it, though, is the last line "Then I got to 24 and realised that I deserve more". This line in itself sums up more or less the entirety of the absolute spiritual rot that has encompassed contemporary mainstream femininity.

Why do you deserve more, Kate? The past 9 years of your life as recounted by the chorus have been nothing but juvenile follies, and the most recent five ("from 19 to 23 I was the worst version of me") are, by your own admission, the worst you've ever been. Further, they're the sum of your adult life. The worst version of you has been the entirety of your life when you're actually in charge of what you do. If you've never been worse than that, why do you suddenly "deserve" more? What could possibly have led to this conclusion? Obviously this isn't specific to Kate, she's just writing for an audience, but that's exactly the issue: why is this seen as relatable and empowering? "Yeah I've always sucked to everyone around me and I'm shit, but you know what, I exist, therefore I deserve success" or whatever? Why???? Why do you intrinsically deserve anything at all????????????? There's absolutely nothing merit-based in this, it's literally just existence warranting success. And women have been conditioned to relate to this. "I deserve to be happy, I am deserving of success, I deserve to enjoy life, daily affirmation, blah blah blah" even in a vacuum is ludicrous, but this song spells it out outright that one still deserves these things even if one has been a wholly reprehensible person their entire life. The universe owes it to you.

Why?

Why isn't the line "that I could be more"? That's empowering. That provides agency to the listener relating to the song. That suggests positive change, for oneself and others, and that it's within one's ability to enact this positive change. But that isn't how it goes. This is a deliberate choice and it is very intentional messaging. Not just from Kate; she's not nefarious here or anything, it's just the end result of decades of insisting these things are true, that there is some universal debt owed to the woman by virtue of her breathing.

I like women, I like the song, but I hate this shit.

More people are devastated by a woman being divorced and left to support herself than the number of people devastated by a child being given up to the orphanage by the parents.

Women choosing to hate children is normalized while children are still shamed for hating women.

It is easier for you to get beaten by a crowd for molesting a woman than it is for molesting a child these days ( As far as I am aware there are more men in jail for false accusations of sexual assault than there are men in jail for false accusations of pedophilia. )

In the third world and lots of the first world as well people have less issue with children being beaten by authority figures then women being hit by male figures in their life.

A woman killing her children is more likely to result in a discussion about mental health and depression than a child killing a woman where most of the discussion would just be about jailing them as an adult.

Women are the meme gender because they literally have more rights than actual children and they still consider themselves the truly oppressed members of society.

There is 10-100X the number of discussions about protecting women in the west than there are about protecting the children.

In conclusion:

Protecting women is given higher priority than protecting actual children in the west. Women still believe they are the oppressed people. Women prove themselves to be the meme gender.

The fact that women's and children's rights are always labelled together has further obfuscated the fact that most of the focus and funding is going towards the women part rather than the children part.
