Yeah that was like a year ago. They went a year and a half with just rules and barely trying and failing to ship 3 measly minis.
Then all of a sudden about two or three months ago they finally opened a real kickstarter this time for real minis for each army. They raised 3 million freedom dollars.
That said their distribution and infrastructure look much smoother and put together this time. I am reasonably confident they'll get their shit shipped on time even with the enormous amount of orders, but we'll see, they just confirmed all the backers' shipping addresses last week.

No it's basically just 40k except the Christianity stuff is explicit instead of implicit. So Chaos is literally Heck, the Imperium are crusader knights serving some war-crazy version of Catholicism, and the Emperor is Christ.
The Sultanate are kind of a third party. They're basically just there so people don't accuse the writer of making Muslims literal demons from heck.
