I've been playing Warframe because it is free and has persistent progression. Does anyone know of an MMO or MMO-ish game that both has interesting content and persistent long term progression?
I don't like WoW or Destiny because progression resets and stuff effectively scales to your level so there isn't much of a feeling of improving your character. And then every so often an expansion comes out and basically resets everyone back to 0 as far as endgame is concerned and it just removes any desire I have to keep playing. But on the flipside games like Warframe pile system ontop of system and you end up being a god where everything is stupidly easy because of how OP you get. I think I need to find a happy balance between the two approaches to player progression.
