I been playing Dota

Smatterings of Spyro 3 and Assetto Corsa. I've mostly been too busy to play video games this week.

Strangers of Paradise.

It's was good.

The gameplay is very fun and the build variety is quite interesting, everything else though like level design, story, characters and enemy placement were very lacklustre.

The credits play Frank Sinatra's "My Way" and was so out of place thematically I was taken aback.

Finished MGSV. Playing RDR2 now and I'm amazed how realistic it is.

Songs of Conquest. Unfortunately the skirmish AI is beyond r-slurred, which means you need to play one of huge campaign maps to get some challenge.

Also finishing Blasphemous. Got 37/38 cherubs and now I'm scouring the map for the last one

Still Stellaris. New DLC with a free patch dropped, screwed with balance of big empires, made generals beyond usless, and introduced epilepsy inducing UI glitches. They are going to patch it (someday) so I'm enjoying this while I can.

I started playing Fallout 3 after not getting into it over a decade ago. I nuked the town.

well someone posted in that Starsector thread about http://itch.io, and on the front page was a Kairosoft game so I ended up pirating Game Dev Story and spent like 3 hours playing last night even though I've already played the ripoff Game Dev Tycoon and know it's a complete waste of time

gonna give Starsector a try today if I can figure out how to play the newest version without paying

Oh I also got a Switch emulator working, it was surprisingly easy and runs well. So testing out the Advance Wars reboot

Transport fever 2, a lot. It's one of those logistics autism games, and it grows on me the more I play it. I've also been playing factory town, which is a very clever factorio like. Also apex I guess.

Not enough time for gaming lately but I started Pathfinder Kingmaker recently and have been playing it off and on, mostly at work when I'm stuck watching paint dry.

Finally got starsector Been playing for a few days now and I really like it Have my own fleet acting as a merc company rn where I'm playing both sides in a local war. Smuggling weapons and blueprints to pirates while selling drugs and fuel to the space FEDS I want to get other factions into the war so my merc fleet can get crazy contracts to hunt down the pirates

I'll finish my unmodded campaign first before I jump into the modding scene

Elden Ring continues. Just soloed the double gargoyle fight in Nokron. Not too bad with a well upgraded weapon. It probably helps that I had practice from fighting the one in the Dragonbarrow

Fear and Hunger, tell me someone else here has played it too. It's like a curse, I can't stop thinking about it.

I’ve been playing Nier Replicant. It definitely plays like a PS3 game but I’m enjoying it.

New Zelda, it rocks so much, how can a game be so good? I'm enjoying it too much, soynicels please tell me how wrong my opinion is to bring me down to earth a bit.

I’ve been replaying forager and it’s very fun for the entire game until you hit end game. I’m getting the Minecraft strip mine urge so I’ll probably go do that when I’m done with this. Vaguely interested in Core Keeper and might check that out soon too.

I've been playing Warframe because it is free and has persistent progression. Does anyone know of an MMO or MMO-ish game that both has interesting content and persistent long term progression?

I don't like WoW or Destiny because progression resets and stuff effectively scales to your level so there isn't much of a feeling of improving your character. And then every so often an expansion comes out and basically resets everyone back to 0 as far as endgame is concerned and it just removes any desire I have to keep playing. But on the flipside games like Warframe pile system ontop of system and you end up being a god where everything is stupidly easy because of how OP you get. I think I need to find a happy balance between the two approaches to player progression.

I played lovecraftian lite-horror fishing game Dredge this week per @Zenzic’s recommendation.

It was consistently engaging and interesting and even grinding out the last few trophies for the platinum was enjoyable. $25 for a short (10-15 hours or so) indie seemed excessive, but it was more than worth it. Extremely high quality title. I’ll definitely be buying the DLC when it comes out.

I also appreciated a fishing game having not just one, but two endings.

In one, the world ends because of you and in the good ending the world doesn’t end but you get eaten by a giant leviathan.
