That's what it's like to make a sequel to a game whose success you never understood.

People warned them, that they had to change many things, that it was not what we were looking for, even during the alpha tests there was a lot of feedback about this but they simply wanted to play with the mentality of: Nah bruh, we released the game in a terrible state and we We will fix it over time.

By the time they leave payday 3 in a "decent" state there will no longer be any chance to come back

They hoped to be able to squeeze PD3 like a cash cow, like they were doing with PD2 without stopping to think that they already burned the good faith of the community in PD2 and that card was not going to work twice

didn;t it take like 10 years for payday 2 to become good

why would anyone buy it? it doesn't look like they did anything fundamentally different from payday 2, and payday 2 already has a literal decade of DLC content that goes on sale for dirt cheap. i feel like if they had leaned more into the slower paced planning/tactical aspect and made it less of an arcade shooter they would have had more success, since hardcore FPS games are in vogue right now. but as far as i can see what they released is payday 2 with less stuff to do.
