if the bible has taught us nothing else, and it hasn't, its that girls should stick to girl sports.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE GAMEZ THESE DAYS SUCK BACK IN MY DAY GAMEZ WERE GOOD
I'd argue there are excellent games now as well, it's just the slop to good ratio is like 20:1.
People remember gaming back in the day fondly because it didn't have mtx slop and business models aimed at squeezing out every shekel from you, games were designed largely from passion. Now it's the opposite and games are designed from corporate boards, CFOs and DEIshitters. This is mainstream gaming though, indies are better than they ever were.
Ah yes, "Destroy All Humans" was developed out of "passion". Everybody conveniently forgets all of the slop that's always been shoveled out there. It's just back then it was straight to Blockbuster instead of saas
I mean. I don't agree with this for other media, but in terms of functionality it's far easier to argue that games are released more broken and buggier than they used to be.

games as a whole are objectively better today than they were in decades past. there's no argument to be made otherwise.
as as far as bugs go...they get fixed now. it's not like on the NES or SNES where yer game was bugged for life with no hope of ever being able to fix it.
I was thinking of games bricking consoles, something no movie ever did.
And usually, games are only getting better due to the development of technology allowing them to be objectively, technically better. It's why remakes/remasters are so much more acceptable, because you can genuinely remake the same game but improve the graphics, etc.
So I agree with you a lot, but I also think that a lot of the ways in which games should be inherently better than what came before are things that aren't getting used. They have the cowtools to only make improved things, which highlights how often those cowtools aren't used.

all i know is as a kid in the 90s project zomboid was literally (like actual literal not internet literal) my dream video game and it wasn't even remotely possible then. WE ARE IN THE GOLDEN AGE OF VIDEO GAMES.
and yeah there's a lot of garbage out there, but there was always a lot of garbage. a lot of bad games and games with game breaking bugs that couldn't get fixed and blatant cash grabs. there are more people making games now than any other era of gaming. so many of my favorite games, like zomboid or terraria, wouldn't exist without modern gaming being a place where any random r-slur can make a game in his basement and get it on the market accessible to millions of people.
focusing on someone like EA and using them as proof gaming sux and used to be better is the worst and i see it happen all the time.
I bought Star Wars Battlefront II from 2006 and it's unironically better than most modern games.
I remember feeling like the Xbox One was the Future of Gaming and wanting a One X (or whatever the frick those idiots in Microsoft Marketing came up with, I swear to God the new one is going to be the Xbox Series Copilot Azure Gaming Intune Suite Entra Device. Wtf how do they have jobs?).
Now I only play games from 2014 or earlier on a Netflix console with 50x as much processing power as an Xbox 360

Does he have a son? Is there any chance he could inherit the position? Or will we have to resolve to keeping Gabe barely alive in a vegetative state through hourly adrenochrome injections and infant blood transfusions?

Keeping Gaben alive should be a high priority for our society. Imagine the great g*mer chimp out if something ever happened to Valve.
