People have enough games (AAA or not) to keep them busy for the next few years. Certain games can keep people playing for thousands of hours

They themselves fumbled this boom. Market is there. People want to play fun games more then ever before. If you deliver fun game. It will sell like crack.
Hogwarts legacy is perfect example of this. Its fun and good game. Its not deep. Its not well writen. But its fun single player game that sold 30 million units.
What do WBD do? Start delivering worst slob possible. And same time people are screaming at them. More of this.
Bg3 vs dragon age theyguard is another example. Bg3 is fun crpg. Once again. Writing is not best. But its still fun and good crpg. Its estimated to have sold 20 million copies.
Yet bioware and EA are compleatly blind and out of touch. And instead they deliver theyguard. Outcome is over 1 million units sold.
Thing is. What hogwarts legacy or bg3 did. Wasn nothing revolutionary. They arent prettiest games. They dont have game play thats no other company can replicate. They are infact quite basic.
Yet companies are unabel to do that. Instead they deliver messes nobody is asking. Its not just being out of touch. Its being willfully out of touch.

Even then. It was basic, single player only and fun. What more. its something people have been asking for looooong time. and they are asking more of it. People are talking favorably about it. so its not just tricking people to buy thanks to IP. That game is total oposite of every other recent game they have put out.
But its IP not game cope is probably what big wigs are using. And justifying on delivering slob nobody wants.

It's 100% slop. But it admittedly is well-polished slop, at least in comparison to Ubisoft's recent offerings. It's also a setting that hasn't really had a real crack at it since the PS2/PS3 era. Everyone is just tired of Ubisoft resting on their laurels instead of trying something different. I give them credit, they did put out some decent stuff over the years that aren't apart of their usual crap, but they've lost most good will already.

the reason the game sold so much isnt because its anti woke (it has plenty of wokeslop) or terf or any of that nonsense its because millennials, largely women, really want a real game set in the harry potter universe because of how nostalgic they are about reading the books/watching the movies when they were younger and fantasized about going to hogwarts themselves
wb needs to make a game thats literally all about that, not a ubislop game with hogwarts as one of the zones but like a full on hogwarts experience game, a hogwarts sim, you start as a 10yo in first year and go through all seven years of hogwarts, make friends, maybe some romances in last year etc. the millennial foids would go berserk over it, something like hogwarts mystery but a real game and not mobileslop and it would easily sell twice as much as hogwarts legacy did

go look at the mods for hogwarts legacy and say this isn't true - and they're exclusively for a platform that foids are least likely to play. making the second game more like bully where it's a school sim that leans into curfew, classes, truancy, larping, ya romance and cliques and it sells 50 million to the millennial women market. moids underestimate how many die hard hp fans are out there because foids don't tend to make their hobbies and interests their entire personality.
better yet look at the fan fiction community for hp and it's absolute insanity the number of readers these writers are able to get on their goonette handmaids tale copy and paste job set in hogwarts.
