The intent I guess is that real g*mers will give awards to games that are good instead of just giving the award to the gayest person with the pinkest hair even if their games were shit

Anyway, one of the awards went to Bloodborne Kart/Nightmare Kart, an homage to PS1 kart games with a Bloodborne theme made by a

The thinks that this is somehow an epic own because they gave the award to a trans person which surely must be a mistake because le chuds obviously only care about white supremacy or whatever
Twitter responds by pointing out that they gave the award because they liked their game and they don't care if someone is trans so long as they're not a weird freak about it
b0tster responds by hiding all the comments about how they just wanted to give an award to a good game, but keeping all the harsher comments so they look like more of a victim
when that isn't working and they're still getting called out they decide it was illegal to give them an award
finally they just melt down and lock their account completely

Nah, way too many baffling design decisions. Frenzy. Farmable heal items are back for some r-slurred reason. Cannot rest at lamp to refill vials / bullets. Logarius runback. Chalice dungeons. Plot somehow even more cryptic than Dark Souls. Bloodtinge. Blood gems.
Sekiro is their best game.

We're still complaining about runbacks in 2025? And if it weren't for the r-slurred blood gem system, chalice dungeons would have been a great bonus (and let's be honest, you only really need to farm blood gems if you are trying to do some neurodivergent bloodtinge or arcane build, and there are custom chalice dungeons that have been found for easy farming anyway).

I can sort of buy it. The game gives you the option of interpreting some of the frickshit as good, just far departed from normal human standards. Like Christianity is a cannibal death cult from a certain point of view. Maybe there's something worth celebrating in the baby squid ending, it just requires accepting that humanity is not the ultimate moral good. The sublime is scary, and to embrace it may require our own destruction, yet some of us pursue it all the same.
However, I think that the head chop ending is the true good ending, and everything else is madness.
I think From games are usually truly open to interpretation, but the fanbase are so obsessed with "hidden" lore and edginess that they wrap around to declaring that Kaathe and the baby squid ending are objectively good and there's no nuance. I believe the Frenzied Flame ending of Elden Ring is actually a meta joke about this; at first it seems like a cool alternate anti-capitalist-cycle path for only the most skillful and lorestraggy g*mers, but the deeper you go the more obvious it is that it's just an unambiguously cartoon evil ending. Do you persevere with kneejerk contrarianism and doom the world, or do you stop yourself in time? !g*mers
