Men don't get preferential treatment or aren't encouraged to go to college. Some are also doing a cost-benefit analysis and aren't deeming it worth it since they are less likely to get a lot of financial aid.
It also doesn't help that there are college grad jobs dedicated to checking diversity boxes that are for women or nonwhites only.
