>have i ever told you about my own language, Big Boss? Oh it's a language few people know these days...
>i learned English at a young age and even then i understood it's proximity to power. We do not inhabit nations, Big Boss, or even cultures but languages...
>so this butthole totally translated the dialogue totally wrong and changed the meaning of a bunch of the words. They told me that a direct translation of the original Japanese was incoherent but that butthole- THAT FRICKER -changed my dialogue. What, does he think he's a better writer than me? The fricking arrogance of it...
>I'm friends with Keifer Sutherland and Lea Seydoux. There's Norman Reedus too but let's not talk about him. Point is this: I don't need any of those people I worked with in the past- frick them. I get to sit in the room with Lea and remember that I got to see her munching on another chick's butthole in that French film. I get to sit next to her, thinking about that while sipping my tea. Do you? Do any of you? No, you don't...
>So we had the carbonnara and I know they told me it takes longer than bolognaise but everyone else had finished their food by the time mine arrived...
>i don't mind flying in coach so long as the flight's less than 2 hours. But I'm not doing it just to make a point like Keanu does. I know Keanu personally, you know. It was me that put him in touch with those Polish guys...
>nice place but the drains stank like three week old piss
>i told them that I didn't have a clue what her number was. I mean, who actually still uses their phone to call people anymore?
During my gameplay, this scene was the moment I knew he wasn't a real Snake; a real Snake wouldn't sit quietly during an exposition dump without parroting the last thing they said back as a question
It felt like you're watching a pouting child giving the silent treatment while getting lectured by his dad from the front seat of the car, most awkward moment I've ever felt during a game lol
This is so different from MGS 1 and 2. I just want to sneak around and occasionally kill some people.
!g*mers, what happened to modern gaming? What happened to the game? If I wanted cinematic shit, I'd watch a movie since they're so much better. If I wanted an engrossing story, I'd read a book. What is wrong with the zoomnigs?
I don't agree with you overall but I see your point. If every game that attempted to be like MGS was as good at MGS it wouldn't be a problem, but outside if it there are like 5 vidya tops that deliver on it. The shit that I hate the most is everyone emulating dark souls by scattering vague text throughout the game so dweeb loremasters can advertise their games on YouTube for years by explaining what's happening.
There's still a lot of good shit out there though, it just mostly lies in the AA budget level. Remnant 1 and 2 were both a lot of fun, and my friends and I have had a good time with Outlast Trials.
MGS5 cutscenes are egregious but the gameplay is still kino. Combat is better than ever but stealth is still a big part of the game. There's so many ways to infiltrate enemies too. There's never just one right way or best way to accomplish a mission.
MGS5 was borderline incoherent narratively, but the gameplay itself was leagues better than the rest. MGS 1-4 were straight up movies interspersed with gameplay. At times you were playing for literally a couple of minutes in between several half hour long cutscenes.

I didn't really like mgs3 but don't feel like why.
Besides the annoyance of "no radar because it's the 1960s ussr BUT HERE'S SOME JAPANESE SNACKFOOD", i couldn't remember any of the names of where to go or who to see
No matter how you feel about videogamesunkey, his thing on the mgs franchise was funny
Volgin says this in MGS3 before firing the nuke at the research facility. The nuke was named after Davy Crockett, who died at the Alamo. I haven't played MGSV since it launched, so I don't remember if this is before or after the origin of XOF was revealed. Ocelot was present when Volgin launched the nuke. It's likely that ocelot reported the event with Volgin to Zero, who was responsible for the formation of XOF. The burning man is somehow supposed to be Volgin, which is probably my least favorite detail in the MGS series, and he appears immediately after Skullface says it.
He's referencing Colonel Volgin from MGS3 because he was there for that mission in secret. Skull Face is alluding to how he was following Snake around as his shadow and was there for the death of The Boss same as Snake and Major 0.
Volgin said it because he was firing a Davy Crockett nuclear missile launcher

He meant to say "remember the Alamo [beer we used to love]. Skull Face is secretly Bill from King of the Hill and he is reminiscing about the times that he and the guys would chill in the alley and drink those crispy Alamo cans. After everything with Lenore and then the tainted Alamo recall, Bill/Skull Face went on a war path. Venom Snake is secretly Boomhaur.

Some scientists think it could be lifestyle related (herbs, garlic, unknown), but it is a FACT : JEWISH WOMEN UNDERGARMENTS are rated LEAST ATTRACTIVE SMELL to all men, in many studies.

It's legitimately hilarious how he doesn't even say anything during this car ride.

MGS5 is more game than MGS1 or 2.
All of them have long convoluted cut scenes but 4 and 5 Kojima cranked them up to 11.
