Hoping they eventually dump the SimCity 4 code. The game's mechanics and art style are still unmatched by Cities Skylines two decades onward, but EA demanded that the game be runnable with 128 mb of RAM and a Pentium III, handicapping it moving forward. The modding scene's worked wonders through obscenely technical kludges and .dll files, but there's enough hard-coded caps that hold it back from its true potential and make it inherently unstable on modern hardware.
Dropping the source code and letting people make something along the lines of Open RCT would be incredible for the community.
