Etrian Odyssey 4 - I don't like how vague the in game skill descriptions are, but the Etrian Odyssey battle system is undeniably detailed.
Best Open World
Might & Magic II. It's a definite step up over the first one, and the player is given an impressive amount of freedom to explore.
Best Storytelling
Uhh... tricky one. This is a bit thin on the ground. Most games are light on story, and the ones that do have it like Zanki Zero, Refrain, Galleria & Mary Skelter are inevitably full of anime tropes.
I'll just put Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos for the heck of it.
Knowles of Gortesh? Now that's storytelling.
Best Atmosphere
Anvil of Dawn. This game is maybe shit, but the atmosphere is second to none.
Best Art Direction
Ishar 2 - Messengers of Doom can be very pretty even if the faces are a bit bogged (Ishar 3 was a step back)
Most Overrated
Labyrinth of Refrain - It tries to do something different, but doesn't really achieve what it's aiming for. Also the interface is bad and managing equipment for a party of 15 is a nightmare.
Most Underrated
Knightmare, barely remembered these days. Apparently this was a tie-in to the Bonglish children's TV show, although I barely see a connection.
Most Addictive
Another tricky category. I'll say the Might & Magic Xeen duology. They're straightforward enough to play, but appealing enough to draw you back in.
Most Stressful
Wizardry 4, obviously.
Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei (the first game, not 'shin') is also worth mentioning for practically demanding a guide to play. How are you even supposed to figure out how vital gnomes are to moving around the fusion chart without copious note-taking? How do you know which combination of gems will revive the goddess? You don't! Buy the strategy guide, gaijin.
Most Relaxing
Dungeon Master for retro comfyness.
And I guess Grimrock is pretty chill.
Best Multiplayer
Uh... Bloodwych, I guess?
I think I played this once.
Best Soundtrack
I'm tempted to put Anvil of Dawn again, but that would be boring.
Frick it. I didn't want to have to do this, but Mary Skelter: Nightmares
Please kill me
Best Gameplay
I think we all know it's Wizardry 7.
Best Level Dungeon Design
Elminage Gothic strikes me as being the most thoughtfully designed.
