They also made a hint super early by making "Iron" and "Pyrite" only items that you can find in the area. Iron Pyrite's other name is Fool's Gold

Literally no one can mod areas. They invented a modding program and invented a dynamic new area with doors and everything. Glitchy unfinished areas aren't even that uncommon.
