Nearly every interaction I have with academics in my life is littered with conversations punctuated by "white people suck". The fact that you're even pointing out that this was observable implies that this is a problem. What are you even saying? "Haha jk about hating you!"

Fun fact, the reason for this is because when the floodgates of Mexican immigration were opened in the 60's, it was done so with the explicit promise that the racial makeup of America wouldn't change as a result (the line was that migrant workers would go back to Mexico seasonally).
So that was obviously a lie, so they had to find a way to obfuscate it.
