I'm not in the computer dork world. Does this a.basically translate that a bunch of Indian companies got set up to act as an Immigration+Temp Agency for sexy Indian dudes getting work in the US?

Also what is supposed to be the average entry salary for a software developer or systems analyst?

Yeah so these wages are paid to the contracting firm which then pays sexy Indian dude half of it. If you see 100k paid to sexy Indian dude, that's likely 40-60 to sexy Indian dude rest to sexy Indian dude house. That's top of the line. Most roles I saw are from 70-80k. 120-160 is really high sexy Indian dude roles.

Programmers really vary greatly, but anything lower than 120 would be a junior role. Sexy Indian dudes have made it hard to even find that. I have buddies send me stinked in job descriptions with 80-90k for 8-10 years experience.

If you do get the job and it isn't somewhere sexy Indian dudes can't be, you will be baby sitting some of the dumbest people to ever live. Lazy, stupid, no idea how to code, no integrity, never wrong. When they say they are motivated it's because leadership whips these people to work nights and weekends to hit deadlines and it still doesn't work.

If you ask a sexy Indian dude to make a list and give them a mockup of some simple dynamic list component to build and the mockup shows three list items, the jeet will literally just hard code a three item list.

This is literally the biggest problem with the vast majority of jeets in IT, they lack the ability to think independently. You have to tell them exactly what you want, how to do it, and then you have to stand over their shoulder and make sure they don't cut corners. At that point, it doesn't matter how cheap they are you're better off hiring someone competent. But the board doesn't give a shit, they just want the budget to stay low.

Watching the puzzle across his face when we are like dude you wrote it to only have three items…it should be pulling those results from this api…you need to iterate over…never mind I'll do it

$132,270 is the median for the entire field.

H1 trends towards more junior engineers, the senior ones use EB. Most h1's go to people graduating from US schools, it's the pipeline from j1 to lpr, get a masters in the US and then you have a 14% chance to win the lottery and be able to do PERM.

He has also removed US employers from the list. Company with most h1's is Amazon. Google, Ernest Young, Microsoft, Apple and Meta are all in the top 10. Amazon average pay for h1 is $146,280.

120K fresh out of a BS is pretty high comparatively

It really depends, and your conflating straight pay to a grad with paying some sexy Indian dude hiring firm for the H1B. None of these companies hire H1B, they hire contracting firms that whip the jeet.

If the jeet is down for 120 on paper, they are max being paid 70-80k, and that's very high end you're actually a programmer which isn't the case for literally no joke dude 99% of them.

The scam is to get one guy that kinda sorta codes and 20 sexy Indian dudes to fill keyboards. They pretend to work but just mooch off the main lead sexy Indian dude who has middling coding skills. The company takes in most of what we see in these charts.

How do these companies profit from hiring incompetent workers for $80k per year?

First that same role for an American would be 40-50% more not even including benefits which sexy Indian dudes don't get on contract.

When they hire an h1b, they do so through a contracting firm. One contracting firm. They contract one h1b for 80k on paper, but actually get a whole firm to some degree. The more seats they fill the more support through the few sexy Indian dudes that actually can code they get.

To answer your question, they aren't. Big biz is trying to save a buck by hiring Indians to build something Indians said would take four months, ends up taking a year and a half and the final product is complete shit. Then rhey bring in whitey to fix it and end up paying out of the butt at the point.

The whole point is to show savings on salary on a quarterly excel sheet.

I hear that story a lot on reddit, but how often does it occur, and are the long-run costs overstated? I'm not seeing major collapses of tech firms in the US.

It's like reading too much of /r/sysadmin and becoming overtly r-slurred about cybersecurity.

I mean look around. Your social security number has been leaked probably 100 times because jeets commit API keys into their code. Its not a total collapse, its an enshitification.

Think of it like how Indians do wiring. It looks like it should explode into flames, and it does. Just not all the time.

Is this like the Jews did this meme?

!chuds, I found yet another intellectual weakness among the !codecels.

Apparently, the sexy Indian dudes are all terrible workers that companies continue hire because no one's reputation exists. And these sexy Indian dudes are responsible for every major breach and failure in cybersecurity for the past 20 years.

Jeeted code is a pain in the butt to build on top of, but you can limp along adding new features that don't quite work as well as you'd like.

Making everything work holistically is an entire rewrite, and you'd be an idiot to pay twice for one product so you just milk it as long as you can and sell the company.

but how often does it occur, and are the long-run costs overstated?

A significant chunk of the work consultancy firms get is immediately thrown away as soon as it's completed. Internal company politics regarding fundings, trying to get some governmental grants, POCs built because a manager was sure he was gonna get a client etc.

If the project is actually useful, then the client will actually hire a team and carry on the development by itself, otherwise it becomes just another "internal company asset"

Every person they hire is someone they can bill the client.

They just need a face to be there for the calls, it doesn't matter if in the backrooms it's 3 guys working or just 1 doing the job of 3 people

So none of the companies who hire these people get wise to it?

Yes, but just to clarify: it's not like they're in "oh shit, we need to cover for the idiots" mode. It's more of a "no one gives a shit as long as the job gets done".

Interesting. Who keeps them from talking to each other? Or maybe it really doesn't matter because the code is good enough, but neurodivergent people on reddit b-word endlessly about something not being 99% perfect at 5x the cost.

They profit cause there's usually enough somewhat competent workers to make a barely functional product. As long as it works higher ups don't care, in a lot of cases companies like MS and Google (hint hint) make products to generate buzz for a bit and then shut them down when the hype is gone.

Yep. This is why the internet sucks. This is why all of our data gets breached constantly. If we started today hired all the whites back and tried unfricking all the fintech code alone it would take 20 years. Its fricking fricked

Yes, several companies, mostly headquartered in India but with US affiliate offshoots, hire tons of H1-B contractors and farm them out to companies in the US, basically competing with Accenture and Deloitte who had already been doing so previously. Wipro is on the guy's list, and this is what they're primarily known for here. They're a consultant factory that abuses H1-Bs to bring in Indian labor for below market prices, and they exploit them by paying them peanuts while charging standard hourly prices for their labor.

Indians have been refining the art of rent-seeking over thousands of years. Wherever there's an opportunity to park yourself in a government or corporate post and make money off other people's labor, there you will find Pahjeets. It's the biggest obstacle that all countries in South Asia face, as all their institooshuns (shout out Jolani) are bloated by greedy bureaucrats and managers who would gladly tank their organizations' future potential for the sake of a safe and easy buck now.
