Fires Raging Through California? Better Let Everyone Know A LARGE Magic The Gathering Collection (Alpha/Beta) Was Lost In The Fires

https://old.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance/comments/1hwwjhe/very_large_alpha_and_beta_mtg_collection_was_lost/

Take it for what it's worth, but have some personal knowledge from a good friend that a fairly large collector of alpha and beta magic lost their entire collection of magic in the fires currently ongoing in California. I honestly don't know the extent of the collection, but at least they were able to escape with their lives and their pets as well.

What kind of special r-slur/neurodivergent decides it's a good idea to go to Reddit and post something like this unironically?

Was it one of you?

Insurance companies are parasites. There's nothing "standard" about for-profit operations whose profit relies on maximizing human suffering.

/u/tjcslamdunk I can tell that you don't own any assets because you clearly have no understanding of the purpose insurance serves. Maybe you could afford a home and a nicer car if you didn't spend all your money on edgelord pokemon cards.

God online commies are so fricking insufferable !anticommunists

Is he r-slurred, insurance companies want to minimize human suffering. The more bad things happen the more they have to pay out.

Now journ*lists on the other hand, they feed from fear and suffering.

Exactly.

Insurance companies like arms manufacturers want their prospective customers to have the fear of the event (war/illness), but without the event ever actually coming to pass (weapons manufacturers would have to show their shit actually works and probably be forced to give up their IP so production can be expanded to other companies, insurance would have to pay out).

:#marseysmoothbrain: the only alternative to thinking insurance companies exist literally to make you suffer is to think theyre perfect angels :#marseysmugretard:

Insurance companies had actually removed many homes from the area from fire insurance citing the risk as too high a few months ago which is not alot of time to find new insurance and pay in a few months for it to kick in :marseytroll: isnt it funny how it's normal to pay :marseymerchant: to save money for you so when something bad happens theyll pay you back your money, except they will fight you at every opportunity and scheme to ultimately keep all your money. Definitely a normal and helpful industry :soyjakwow:

Because cali has limits on how much they can raise premiums and doesn't let them forecast how much future events will cost, this is entirely on Commieformia's price controls.

Almost like Insurance is basically an unsustainable Ponzi scheme which only makes sense in niche circumstances that the US gov uses as a weird form of price control forcing everyone to buy into a broken and overegulated system

Don't worry sweaty

I hope the owner has insurance on his/her collectibles. It's sad to hear about people losing homes and property especially at the start of the year.

I'm sure he's not poor and took out insurance on his collectibles.

it is, in fact, infinitely more cringe to collect mass produced children's toys than unique works of art

The rarer cards are worth tens of thousands and the best card is worth hundreds of thousands.

That's what makes this story sound a bit silly. If you can take pets you can take a folder of rare cards.

You sweet summer child. These people have whole rooms of their house dedicated to cards.

Pets can follow you out the door on their own but if you own cards worth thousands then probably you have them locked away

in a fire safe even, if you live somewhere like California and aren't r-slurred

Its been 29 days without rdrama, I can't go ahead with this any longer. My mental state is in complete and utter pandemonium. I cried myself to sleep 4 times today. I feel paranoid that my rdrama account may never get unbanned. Rdrama has the only thing that brings me joy in this cruel life for 3 months now and I won't be able to recover mentally or financially if it's gone. I've spent 11,902 currency on awards and 3,522 currency has been lost to slots, blackjack and roulettes. I even spent at least 6500 coins trying to win the lottershe (i never did), because i wanted the badge. I told my friend through tears and she said the mods reasoning is stupid. Although, My rdrama account being banned has had it's positive impacts on me. My IQ has increased by 40 and I've been thinking more critically. When I saw the last "santa deniers did this" message of snappy, i vomited. I just hope it'll come back, I even started praying again. I've been a dedicated Christian for 12 years and I began to pray to god in hopes that they my rdrama account will be back soon. I had to learn Arabic to pray to Allah. I hope my rdrama account comes back soon I don't know how much longer I can take this.

Even though MTG is for dweebs, it's perfectly natural to grieve for lost precious things so I understand their pain.

Imagine if the array of 5 1/2 inch floppies on which the Marseys are saved were burned.
