This isn't just government either. I'm working with a client that has a bunch of "business critical" applications running on Win2K and 2K3 servers. If you ask them what they do or how they work, they have no idea. The people responsible for them left the company 15+ years ago and all anyone knows is that, if you stop them, everything fricking breaks.

Southwestern Airlines was spared the cloud strike issue because they run on like Windows 3.1, same with the European train system. Probably the only high paying job in Europe is a Windows 3.1 Admin for the train system. Saw a posting for ~300k USD a few years back for it in Germany.
