Would Erdogan disappearing be a good or a bad thing? On one hand, someone even crazier will probably take his place, as it's tradition in the ME, on the other hand, the next wannabe sultan will also be a lot more incompetent, as it's tradition in ME.

While true, Erdogan and his state media started to feel a little too comfortable talking about restoring the Ottoman Empire. We belonged to the Ottoman Empire, America doesn't seem like it's particularly enthusiastic about defending us right now, and neither we nor Bulgaria, our 'shield' against Turkey, can actually defend ourselves. Erdogan was already starting to become a problem

The Ottoman Empire ain't coming back, the last thing Turks want is to be drafted into a massive conflict in Europe of all places when their economy is in shambles like it is currently.
