They're going the OJ Simpson route of making the court case about something entirely different so that a guilty man gets away with murder.
OJ got off lucky because his black jurors wanted "revenge" on the criminal justice system for Rodney King. They were smirking when interviewed after the fact. They knew OJ was guilty, but didn't care. It was all about "frick the mayos lol."
Luigi gets off easy because of the r-slurred court of public opinion, the U.S. nationalizes its healthcare industry, and global healthcare rapidly deteriorates as the medical industry becomes unprofitable. By 2035, doctors will be wrapping broken bones in duct tape while Luigi is having daily orgies in his dad's mansion in Baltimore.

So when Pol Pot told nurses to inject people with green coconut water were he and the other commies just doing the "joke's on you I'm only pretending to be r-slurred" kind of trolling?
Also, a free market is when medical device manufacturers prevent others from servicing their devices and pharmaceutical companies get 20 years of no competition through a patent.

when medical device manufacturers prevent others from servicing their devices
Then don't buy the device, or have an unauthorized party repair it (or frick it up) and enjoy losing your warranty. If I sold products worth half a million or more, I wouldn't want my customers hiring Billy Joe Bob to "fix" it. You know how cheap and r-slurred customers can be, so it makes sense. On the other hand, I'd imagine there are some cases where it doesn't take a certified tech from the producer's approved list to replace a button. In general, it makes sense to vet people; otherwise, shit will get broken, and you'll be dealing with angry customers in court.
How do you not understand this? You've graduated high school, right?
Health insurance companies only have like 10% profit margins. The guy your mom pays to unclog your shower when it's full of dry c*m and butt hair has about 25% margins, as a point of reference.
Industry average profit margins for health insurers is 3% r-slur. They're required by ACA to spend 80% of premiums on claims - the remaining 20% isn't profit because that 20% also needs to pay for all their employees, executives, tech costs (servers etc), legal costs, lease on office space, etc.
Not even lmao. UNH was unique in having relatively high margins at 6%. The industry average is 3%.
Health insurance companies have their own issues but anybody who thinks they're directly responsible for our absurdly high healthcare costs is r-slurred. Doctor/nurse salaries, some prescription drug costs, and basically all medical devices are the real reason why it costs so much in the US. But none of these idiots bitching about healthcare costs even want to reduce any of these. They even got pissed off about insurance companies trying to stop anesthesiologists from blatantly overcharging.
Oh darn is it a little harder for insurance companies to make a profit after accidentally creating a system that incentivizes caregivers and pharma companies to charge out the butthole while providing less?

i wonder if theyre trying to make some kind of unique/contorted fighting words argument for their legal strategy. At the end of the day Luigi's state of mind/motication is a massive factor at play in determining guilt/sentencing as it it generally would in most criminal cases.
If that's the case every cute twink commie will be gunned down in cold blood as soon as the verdict is given. Nobody likes them. Not even other commies.
i dont think that argument will get him off or even unincarcerrated, i think this is a hangman avoidance strategy. The fighting words srgument is genrally only a mitigating factor, its not about proving guilt.
Yeah but it seems pretty premeditated. It would be one thing if he happened to be in the area and just snapped and immediately shot somebody. But he clearly planned this out.
idk maybe that defense would work if he were a woman.
my point about fighting words is that a murderer/other criminal gets more sympathy from the court when fleshing out culpability/responsibikity based on youre reasoning for the crime. With fighting words if i punch someone in the fsce for no reason the court will be harder on me/find me guiltybof mpre chsrges/give harsher sentencing than if i did the same thing, butt bc he called me the g*merword they might make my sentence less. I think in this case the lawyers might be tryjng to spin that his motivation wasnt deranged desire for violence, nor was he doing it for some anti-american cause, butt was doing it (in his mind) for some broader virtuous reason that he isnt as bad. Its along the same lines of a family man murdering the neighborhood drug dealer who sold his son the drugs he od'd on. I dont thjnk it will necesssrily workk to vitiate culpability, butt perhaps to help him get a light/lighter sentence than
I see what you're saying, but in the context of this specific case, isn't that tantamount to just straight up admitting the domestic terrorism charge is 100% valid?
as long as theyre vague in what theyre saying this is just about controting belief and potentially tainting the jury pool at this point. And then if the time comes that an acquittal is more obviously unlikely after all the evidence is parsed over n such, then this argument will help as a mitigsting factor in sentencing. Like him not getting the chair, or maybe getting only 30 years. Not to compare rhem for any other reason than sentencing, its like how gary plauch murdered a guy on live tv in a crowded airport. He was found guilty butt never spent a day in jail over it bc the courts decided that gary had ressons.
They're going for jury nullification (i.e. the jury know he's guilty but acquit anyway). It's pretty much the only defense besides insanity that could even be used.
What's interesting is you're not allowed to tell the jury they can nullify the law. They'll just make it seem like as righteous a murder as possible.
Regardless of whatever one thinks about the insurance CEO it is a fact that is guilty of premeditated murder. The only card the defense can play is to garner the jury's sympathy and it might even pay off if they play it well, who knows.
