Yeah, the amount of hypocritical butthurt and double standards when it comes to treating rightoid wingcucks with "charity" while straight up seetheposting against leftoid wingcucks on /r/themotte is why I barely read the culture war roundup anymore. I cannot understand why so many people are going into conniptions over a fricking non-journaloid twitter user getting pranked. It clearly isn't about protecting the reputation of trains from undeserved hatred and it isn't about principles (from a former community member). It's just righteous huffing and puffing over someone on their side getting tricked.

Maybe it’s nostalgia but there used to be a lot less wingcucks when it was on /r/slatestarcodex. There was also more variety of topics than :marseytrain:s and twitter journos

yeah, the lefties balanced it out. but now /r/ssc is useless for anything but links because it's otherwise a slightly more willing to argue SRD(at the expense of :marseylongpost2:), it's nearly declined to /r/xkcd levels. And that was probably the sweet spot if for no other reason that the blog comments were so shit to use.

In fiction terms none of these people seem to recognize that "the villains" have the capacity to plan and act "off screen" and are thus constantly getting caught flat footed by almost everything. They seem to missing that part of thier brain that would normally be assesing the situation and telling them "That's bait".
