Why would the Thalmor be renaming a city after a Dunmer town? There's no way that the Dark Elves and the Thalmor get along since they both view themselves as the master race. I'm sorry what I meant to say was that I need Thalmor mommy now!

I was playing newer versions of Minecraft and wondering if I just don't like Minecraft anymore. Then I played an awesome 1.12 pack (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/nomi-ceu) and realized no, newer versions of Minecraft just kinda suck.
I very much have the same issue, I tried it a while back after not touching it for ~10 years, and it's just not fun. Then tried it with different modpacks and it sparked my interest again. There's something with the vanilla gameplay loop that is just not satisfying. Modpacks fix it by giving you so much more stuff to do, and so many cowtools to do it with.
Though I will confess that the modpack meta took for the worse as well. Too many of them seem to me like just a bunch unrelated mods thrown together without any consideration of theme or balance. I'd prefer less mods but have them be consistent with each other than have infinite stacking boxes, quest rewards etc in a technical modpack
That's why 1.7 and 1.12 have the best modpacks, they have packs that are very cohesive and performant. Modpacks like Break Out and Volcano Block are really unique and fun, nothing like that exists on 1.13+
I do agree versions after that are basically a different game, but it was still enjoyable. However the updates after 1.7.10 (and especially 1.12) feel poorly implemented and unbalanced.

EU4, Forza horizon 5, darktide, cyberpunk 2077 and valorant, judge me based on my top 5 played games on steam:
I've played like 2 full games vanilla and wanted to know if there are any DLCs worth getting? There's so much of them that I have no idea what adds what, and buying everything is ridiculously expensive

I have all of the DLC and in my opinion the top 3 most important (for all nations in the game) are:
1- Art Of War: Adds the Thirty Years War (religious league war), Army template (so you dont have to click every province individually to raise armies), Marches (Different type of vassal which has much stronger armies), and most importantly it adds the ability to transfer the occupation of provinces in war between you and your subjects and the ability to give war goals to your allies (meaning they are more helpful during wars). Also adds the revolution mechanic in the end game and revolutionary wars
2- Common Sense: Gives you the ability to develop your provinces which means you can do a different playstyle other than just conquering to make your nation stronger (you can now develop your already owned lands), also adds more abilities to the protestant religion.
3- Dharma/Cossacks/Cradle of Civilization: I would rate the all equally but it depends which nations you like to play the most, Dharma: Indian sub continent flavor and ability to upgrade your government. Cossacks: Used to be more important before estates became free but still adds more flavour to horde and steppe nations as well as more diplomacy options. Craddle of Civilization: Gives more flavor muslim nations and if you arent playing as muslims it adds army professionalism (You can drill your armies in peace time and make them more professional and stronger) as well as the ability to upgrade your advisors past level 3 (very useful in my opinion).
If you are looking for more nation specific DLC then for Colonizing (Spain, portugal, england etc.): Conquest of Paradise, Golden Century and Rule Britannia, for Orthodox christian Third Rome is very Useful and for Nordics Lions of The North is pretty cool too.
I finally finished the FF7 remake. Going to start Crisis Core later. Wish they'd kept the original voices though. They're so much worse in the remaster.
Yes, the new electric powers shit can also be used in the web swinging and it opens up a bunch more options to position yourself (a dash and an "upjump"), which in turn lets you "webzip" in places you wouldn't be able to reach without the new powers. Since the powers recharge with acrobatics there's now an actual reason to do them while swinging, and there's way more of them. And all this in 60 fps if you chose mild raytracing (full rt is 30 fps).

Been playing Timberborn. It's a concept I've had for about 25 years and finally someone did it. It's a city builder but the big important mechanic is that water flows. So you can build dams, reservoirs, water wheels, etc. Unfortunately it's still early access and I'm not sure there's enough game there yet to keep me entertained for long. And there's no combat, which is a shame, because I'd love to drown my enemies in a flood.
How are you liking WotR so far and what path are you doing? I like it better than KM (which I replayed recently and also like, but endgame is so tedious wow), imo its a straight upgrade
Dragonfall is probably fine, it just has too much punk anarchkiddie nonsense for me. I grew up in Portland and had enough of that shit before I was out of high school.
