Dave the Diver is gook trash. Everyone calls it "relaxing", "chill", "play at your own pace".
don't know what the frick game they were playing but it's not the one I played. It's an annoying QTE-filled grindfest that constantly forces you into unwanted unskippable cutscenes
and takes you out of the flow of what you wanted, which is probably by design because the core of the game is very sparse.
The restaurant side game is just Root Beer Tapper combined with Farmville
. The combat controls are janky
as frick, the hitboxes make absolutely no sense and the boss fights are difficult for the sake of being difficult.
The minigames are dumb as frick. Oh wow
, a memory card game. Neat, a seahorse racing game where you just mash the space bar.
A rhythm minigame that takes place in an otaku's wet dream about his waifu, so cool. I legitimately do not understand why this is anything above a Mixed rating on Steam, much less "Overwhelmingly Positive".
G*mers really are just BIPOCcattle I suppose.

Dunno how controversial this is but I really didn't care for Red Dead Redemption 2.
This is the only place I've seen any criticism for it. The only place that isn't gaslamping me about how it's the greatest thing ever fricking programmed
I don't really like modern Rockstar in general come to think of it.
Edit: Also I think LA Noire is one of Rockstar's best games but I get that not everyone would be interested.

I only played about two hours of it and it felt like half of that was watching boring movie garbage while wondering if I'm going to get to play a game anytime soon. I felt the same way about Death Stranding. Just let me play a game.

RD2 was boring and preachy imo. RD1 was the better game.

Neither were good. Both were decent 3rd-person shooters drenched in a slog of shallow, trendy game mechanics with zero thought or substance and hours of horrendous "cinematic" cutscenes with near-zero relation to the plot
Like any R* game, really (San Andreas still god-tier tho)

I was never a huge fan of Rockstar but I remember being kind of baffled by the move from Red Dead Revolver to Red Dead Redemption. I think people forget but there was a time when Rockstar was mostly making grindhouse style games like Manhunt, Bully, The Warriors etc. At some point they went from the edgy games for adults company to the GTA company and they've just made boring shit ever since.

In a month and a week's time, the only game Rockstar will have released in the last TEN YEARS is Red Dead 2. They've become a very boring company.

I think it's a great game. But modern games have a habit of wasting 4 hours of your time before they actually let you do shit. None worse than RDR2. That's the only thing that's kept me from picking it up a second time. And the epilogue was criminal.

I too love RDR2. One of my favorite games of all time because of how immersive it was. Also made me unironically care about horses while playing it (I am now back to not giving a frick about horses).

Most people have kinda lost interest in Rockstar tbh, all the terrible microtransactions and the shitty "remake" turned a lot of people off the brand. The new GTA is not going to be as big of a success as 5.

It is very well programmed lol but Arthur Morgan has the same politics as a modern teenage girl and that ruins it now for me as an enlightened chud

Yeah I know how this makes me sound but the politics of the setting are too modern and it's blatant how racism and sexism are used to code the βbad guyβ characters whereas everyone back then would be bigoted by modern standards.
I loved shooting up the Klan members and I suppose an outlaw gang could be fine with blacks and women.
But like, the good characters are lacking in period authentic prejudice and it's not believable. LA Noire was much better about this. Only villainous characters like Roy Earle were truly racist but also the writers still had the balls to remind you this was the 1940's.

I'd be totally fine with Arthur lacking in prejudice completely since he was essentially raised away from society by Dutch and Hosea who both have weird idealistic philosophies, but the mission where you ride with Lenny and Arthur literally doesn't know what racism _is_ is a step too far. It would be almost impossible especially considering you're currently in the South

A few years ago, I commented on reddit in a few places that were circlejerking about RDR2 that I didn't even bother buying the game because I found out that the gunplay was just as bad as in GTAV. The response was predictable.
Sorry but I'm not gonna buy a $60 game with gunplay so bad that you have no choice but to use extremely heavy-handed autoaim. Shooting shit is the primary gameplay loop, if they can't get fricking shooting down with a billion dollar budget then I'm not supporting it, sorry, I don't care that the horses can shit or whatever
This is coming from someone who was a HUGE fan of RDR1 in high school

As an rdr2 peepeerider the gunplay is atrocious.

The gunplay isn't great but it's not terrible in my experience. I played the whole game on keyboard and mouse no auto-aim and never had a big problem aiming. Actually it was so easy I had to install a mod to make combat somewhat difficult.

I enjoyed RDR2, but the whole Rockstar mission system is just tired at this point. It's even worse in this game, because half the missions involve slowing riding to a destination so unskippable dialog can occur.
I enjoyed the hunting and exploring, but the missions were just weak and too linear. GTAV had more enjoyable missions and gunplay.

i'm trying to play this game but it's like Elden Ring, just too big. i want to progress the plot but every time i start i have to walk really slowly around the camp, go hunting, manage my bullshit, make food, clean my weapons, then search for the next plot quest, etc. and the travel time is kind of annoying although i like riding my horsey
and i only play video games for like 3-5 hours a week normally so i am still on act II even tho i've been playing only this game for well over a month now

Lowkey my fear with BG3. Solo runs apparently take 75-100 hours but I'm running a party of 4 headless chickens. It took me a couple of months to put 50 hours in Nier playing it as a passion.
