I might actually be r-slurred because I didn't realize teams chat is fully accessible, searchable, and permanent if configured that way. They can even set up monitoring for no no words if they want.
It's just so wildly invasive I thought concern about snooping direct messages was conspiracy paranoia. (Perhaps that's why the term has changed from "Private Messages" to "Direct Messages" over the years). But it turns out it's more invasive than I thought possible.
