Epic Games has moved quickly to calm fears of a potential ransomware attack, after a group claimed to have breach the company's servers and stolen data.

"We are investigating but there is currently zero evidence that these claims are legitimate," an Epic Games spokesperson told Eurog*mer this morning.

"[Ransomware group] Mogilievich has not contacted Epic or provided any proof of the veracity of these allegations. When we saw these allegations, which were a screenshot of a darkweb webpage in a Tweet from a third party, we began investigating within minutes and reached out to Mogilevich for proof. Mogilevich has not responded. The closest thing we have seen to a response is this Tweet, where they allegedly ask for $15k and 'proof of funds' to hand over the purported data.

The hacked data allegedly includes "email, passwords, full name, payment information, source code and many other data" - though it's unclear if this refers to the details of Epic Games employees, customers, or both.

The ransomware group is, unsurprisingly, now trying to extort money for the data to be returned - or to bought by another party - with a deadline of 4th March.

Last Epoch is an ARPG for those who lack the PhD needed for PoE but don't want to play the Blizzard's kindergarten simulator D4.

Unfortunately the Developers EHG made some people that have never experienced a shit tier PoE launch big mad this week when they released the full 1.0 game on Tuesday and had massive server instability until yesterday.

Here are some of the common complaints:

• General server shit storm. Load times between zones were upward of 5 minutes at one point. Inability to access online mode was common.

• Characters disappearing from both online and offline play modes, which was temporary but caused massive sneed.

• There was some bizarre "referral" program where you referred people in game to get a Bee pet. So as expected every post in global chat and reddit were people asking for referrals. Finally they just gave bee pets to everyone.

And this resulted in a general shitflinging on both the official groomercord and reddit between people simping for the unironic version of the "tiny indie studio" meme and others reporting EHG to the Hague for warcrimes.

For anyone wondering the game is pretty good and I believe servers, at least in the US are stable now JK tried now and load times are touch and go. The endgame is a bit light compared to maps in PoE but I suspect it'll have the same content creep over the new seasons.
