I played through the whole thing the last 2 days, and Of the 3 main cliques, Anhui despite being ahistorical felt the most developed and least buggy, then its a tossup between Zhilli and Fengtian, but Fengtian was generally more buggy than Zhilli, and There were issues with minor nations like Jilin but I assume its like just a holdover from a beta version and its EVERYTHING

Events are pretty average, I liked some of the fengtian stuff, (Zhang Zuolin not even considering trusting others until suggested by his son ) I suggest reading a little up on the conflict, so youre not lost in the sea of chinx names, though its not to say they dont embellish history with their own writing, and Its more gameplay than story though, which is a good thing, and They like just need to up the difficulty a bit and it should be golden, playing on elite it still felt like a cakewalk

Yes, the reason that—when updating aspects of Tomb Raider such as the art, sound and controls—they felt it important to leave in the “harmful” and “inexcusable” prejudice is because they want you to jolly well learn your lesson. This is such a spectacularly disingenuous message, seemingly an attempt to gobble down the racist cake without either a) thinking better of it, or b) altering the content to better reflect these claimed values. I've checked, and none of the game's marketing material mentions its woefully harmful content before you buy.

A cynic might surmise the developers don't actually care at all, but thought this quick screen would cover their backs. Although—and let's not mince words here—given Crystal Dynamics spent 2013 through 2018 making some of the most white-savior-promoting games in modern history, it's hard to exactly pin down where these values lie. Yes, sure, flag up-front that the games feel dated in their depictions of some cultures, absolutely. But pretending that selling them unadjusted is a virtuous act on the developers' part to offer us a vital and excoriating sociology lesson is gross and dishonest.

I am sure the person who wrote this didn't want this implication, but it's awkward how no one else noticed this. If they simply remove this part and keep it ambiguous, it would have been fine. I could see a number of former Core Design members complain about defamation thanks to this message.

The Warner Bros racism warning works because they were the ones that always published those cartoons, while Crystal Dynamics are the current caretakers thanks to Eidos.

Worst of all, the trilogy's depictions of anyone who isn't a sassy British tomb raider with a fondness for teal tank tops has, at best, aged like milk left out in the midday sun, and at their lowest points are nothing less than racist.

The remaster's accuracy does confirm that some parts of these games should have stayed buried, or at least not been uncritically reproduced without some official acknowledgement of their thoughtlessly offensive fumbles. To add some context to why I sold my dog:

The pic shown is of my dog, Sky. He's been with my family since he was a puppy, so about 9-10 years.

As of recently, we've been struggling to take care of him for the past half a year, especially after my parents moved back overseas leaving myself and my brother alone to take care of our dog.

Currently I have other personal commitments that take up most of my time, which take a lot of time and energy. I spend quite some time preparing medication and food for my dog, as he is unable to eat properly due to lumps on his neck. Regular dog food simply won't cut it as they're too hard and rough to swallow, so I cook food for him in batches. However, it's gone to a point where I can't keep this up and my dog would have a better life in a home where he can get more support, and attention.

Gummy is a close IRL friend of mine, so even before this ‘deciding to sell my dog' talk, he has taken care of my dog at his place in several occasions, and even visited him at my place. They do get along quite well so it's only natural that I ask him if he'd like to take care of him permanently.

The only situation where I would give up my dog, is if the ones taking care of him were perfectly capable and had a good relationship with him. Though if Gummy had not been available, I would have to give my dog up for adoption.

My dog would definitely get a far better quality of life by living in a home where people can take care of him more often than I ever would in my current situation.

While I may joke around at times about selling my dog, this has always been an issue and I definitely felt some relief when I found someone who could continue to care for my dog, as he's been with me through a lot of shit in my life. Gummy would always get a long with my dog when he's around, since he likes animals

I understand this situation taken out of the right context may seem like I'm getting a sick kick out of selling my dog. It obviously isn't easy for me to give my dog away, but as the situation persists, it's what I have to do. I understand taking the conversation without context in the screenshots can give the wrong impression, since Gummy and I love to pull each other's leg a lot in steam or groomercord chat
