I hate the way extremist wingcucks always defend the most awful people because of tribalism. Like do you remember when all the moronic BLM activists decided to circle the wagons and defend Jussie Smollett even though it was obvious to anybody with half a brain that Jussie was guilty as frick? I feel like this is the right-wing equivalent of that. When you see a man literally getting murdered on live TV and make excuses for it because the murderer happens to be on your political team, then you have lost the plot and deserve to go straight to heck

True but people that do opioids all the time, like Floyd, have a much higher tolerance than a non-addict. While the amount found in his blood would be fatal to you or me, that doesn't mean it would be fatal for an addict.

It also hurts the case that he had poor cardiovascular health, the fact he was suffocating before any action by Chauvin, the camera was clearly angled in the 30 seconds everypony saw too show it much severe then it actually was, the ambulance that was supposed too help him got lost and failed too get their on time, the position chauvin had Floyd was approved but controversial, no lethal damage was done too his neck, etc.

It's pretty much straightforward terrible that he served longer then a year. It's extremely arguable he should have not served any time at all.

Unironically it's hard to impute the cause of death because there were a lot of factors involved: fentanyl, methamphetamine, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, hypertension, a recent covid infection, and the physical stress of the technique being used to subdue him. That said, under Minnesota law, the necessary elements of the crime (I think it was "unintentional 2nd degree murder" and some variation of "felony murder") are that 1. Chauvin committed a felony (use of excessive force qualifies) and 2. actions taken in the commission of that felony contributed directly to Floyd's death. Those conditions are satisfied even if a healthy individual would be in no serious danger from the same subdual technique, and even if Floyd was in extreme medical risk even before being subdued.

Chauvin wasn't trying too kill Floyd when there was a whole crowd watching. @coronya think he had neighbor fatigue and was probably trying too give Floyd a hard time and inflict some pain, but criminals also tend too say whatever they think will help them when they're caught and Chauvin was tuning Floyd's protests out. Chauvin also had too make sure Floyd stayed on the ground

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I mean yeah I agree with you but when cops have a suspect in custody they have a duty to make sure the suspects don't die. Floyd was handcuffed and not much of a threat anymore, so there were any number of things Derek Chauvin could have done to prevent his death. Shit, he could even have used a pen to give George an emergency tracheotomy, and I'd still have defended Chauvin for doing that, despite the terrible optics.

But he did absolutely none of those things, so I have zero sympathy for him. Like I said, when somebody dies in police custody, the police are accountable for that. They don't get to excuse themselves with "Oh it was just a mistake bro" because if we allow them to make excuses then we are endorsing them making more "mistakes." The only thing that stops "mistakes" like this from happening is when the mistakes have consequences for the people who make them. Is it fair that Chauvin should go to jail for life for an unintentional mistake? Yes, absolutely. When you unjustly take a life, then you also owe a life: specifically yours. When you have the power of life or death over people you need to be really fricking careful how you use it.

Let me put it this way: how conservatives allow police to treat black fent addicts is much the same way as how liberals allow police to treat January 6th protesters

Just some kids on the Internet though.

No, that part's totally fine: the problem is that these subhumans are allowed to hijack ideological movements because all of the reasonable people are too gutless to stand against them

No one has ever died from that hold. The worst thing Chauvin did was negligence and ignoring signs of obvious lethal drug injection. Floyd died from overdose but it was ruled as murder too please r-slurred Muricans. Anyone who is not in US knows that.

BIPOC, you talk about slaughtering everyone who disagrees with you all the time.

:marseysquint: or at least "you" did before "you" "came back"...

Well yeah, but it's only because most of them would slaughter me if they could. I mean don't get me wrong, these hypocrites would absolutely cloak their murderous intentions with phrases like "empathy" or "paradox of tolerance" or "deplatforming bigots" but at the end of the day when you get past their word salad they're basically just talking about the same thing: the socially sanctioned elimination of undesirables.

Considering that many of us neurodivergent straight white males are those undesirables whom the globalist status quo wants to purge, us wanting to kill our haters before our haters can kill us is a very reasonable and understandable motivation. "Do unto others as they would do unto you" and all that.

So yeah, I do still want to hurt these "people" because frankly they deserve it, but I'm much more calm about how I express it now. Part of it is that my timeout gave me a chance to think and reflect on my behavior, and part of it is that my thirst for revenge has mostly been satiated. After all, I contributed (in some small way) to Trump getting elected, I helped accelerate the political polarization of America, and I spread a lot of dangerous knowledge to dangerous people. I feel like the neoliberal globalist scum who try to persecute people like me are really on the defensive now and fighting a losing battle, so I don't have to repress my chud sympathies just to blend in with the "social justice and equity" normies anymore.

It's a wholesome vibe
