I mostly agree, I just don't see ignorance as a benefit. It's avoiding the pain now, only to have it build over time for when they eventually do find out. For sure. I think ideally it would be better in giving people the perfect information to abort the relationship early. In reality though, and this is anecdotal, I've seen too many young women (and gay men) compromise by agreeing to open relationships with their partners as a way to hold on to them, and the damage long-term was devastating.
