I can only speak for my agency, but I only think we have 1 or two super high-level execs whose job is DEI. The vast majority of work in that area is conducted by normal employees who join an action team as an additional responsibility. So in my reading of this, the vast majority of employees who contribute to these efforts are unaffected

1-2 people doing this full time in any organization is crazy

when did this become normal

What do you mean? You haven't been forced to awkwardly sit there with your coworkers in silence during 2-3 different meetings a year while a :marseykween: bumbles through something she clearly knows nothing about?

I had to sit through a meeting last year where the largest and darkest woman Ive ever seen sat there reading a powerpoint in front of her verbatim while her :marseytunaktunak: handler reached over her and pushed all of the buttons on the laptop for her.

They never attempted to send us to those meetings because management knew we wouldn't fricking go. :marseyxd:

So, tell me, online "activists"... just what in the frick has your 10-12 years of anonymous, very shady internet screeching accomplished?

Nothing.

Not nothing. They made the average young person have a massive disdain for anything leftist-coded. Century of the Chud is set up.

My company has had two C-level DEI officers since that became vogue circa the 2020 summer of love: the first was a big-deal hire from a FAANG company but they literally just used working at our corp as a career step to go right back to that same FAANG company at significantly higher title a year or so later. The second was introduced at one all-staff meeting and then mysteriously disappeared. None of the senior staff will talk about it, say they can't share any information whenever anyone asks what happened to her, and she was quietly removed from the org chart a few months later. The position has remained open ever since. Amazing grift.

i wanna send a message to civil servants

im only a civilian but i know the good work all of you made and do for the government and i thank you..

trump is an existential threat to the feds, you people are one of the last bulwarks for our democracy, when he comes for you....FIGHT

itll be logistically challenging to remove tens of thousands of people and by fighting you can make it more difficult, lawyer up and union up, theyre gearing for a fight.

drag this into federal court, itll slow them down.... this is a lot to ask but our democracy is at stake.

FIGHT LIKE HECK

Trump getting elected is the 9/11 of worthless feds

People talking like this like it's normal is also the logical conclusion of raising a generation on Capeshit and expecting them to act like real humans

I don't blame capeshit, even though their main allegories are all media-based. I blame the elevation of the extreme, so that keyboard warriors can declare their disagreements as fights against evil people who can only be dealt with by violence, self-selecting for an audience who will only cheer, not be put off.

Wingcuckery is only encouraged by the current internet. The movies provide a lens to read it all through, not the framework they're basing it on. They already thought their opponents were evil long before they compared them to Voldemort.

What logistical challenge? Just don't send them paychecks anymore and they will leave.

Absolutely crazy how much has changed in just a few months.

4 months ago, I had an interview and one of the questions they asked and ranked you on was "how involved are you with DEI efforts at your current org and what would you do to foster DEI at this job"

Went from that to firing everyone involved with DEI at all agencies. Sheesh.

posted like having to answer those r-slurred questions was a good thing lol

Uh, most of the feds agree with this move?

I am actually 100% for this. We have so many useless DEI positions at my agency. I legit once paused during a meeting because I said the phrase "How are you ladies doing this morning" because I was afraid I might have offended them. In reality, no one was offended because I didn't say anything offensive. It made me realize how much this DEI crap has been ingrained in us.

My agency dumped the DEI office 2 months ago and moved the billets to our core mission. We had like 30+ 'forward deployed' DEI support team members. Nobody noticed when they went away.

DEI is such a waste, and actual fraud, waste and abuse departments in another name. I traveled to another government agency other than my own for a meeting, and was blown away that an entire section of a building on their campus (where we had our meeting) was dedicated to DEI. I'm actually happy this part is happening. All agencies should re-orient to a strict mission focus and nothing more.

Lots of sneeding in the comments from average reddit losers with probably zero federal government affiliation who are going to attack you to heck for your objectively correct opinion

I think the seething comments and downmarseys are from redditors, not feddit.

>Fed team, just remember while DEI might be gone, those of you who do hiring can still pick who you want to hire. You can pick people and still enshrine DEI principles in your internal thought process and there isn't any way to prove that person wasn't the best pick unless they are just wholly unqualified. :soyjakanimeglasses:

Yeah that'll go over well and obviously won't get sniffed out at the first round of questioning.

:marseysuit: "We had several final-round applications with outstanding resumes and portfolios, and you chose Umbaba Nbootoo. Why do you feel they would be a good fit for the company?

:blackwomanspeaking: "They're not a cis whi--uhh, the quality of their work is exceptional."

:marseysuit: "The candidate's resume is one page, printed in 96-point font, and only says 'GIV JOB PLS SAAR'. Get out of my office."
