Average life expectancy of the US is 78 years*. This study examines life expectancies starting at 50 and up.

Do you really think there is zero difference between life expectancies overall for Americans and for those in their 50s and up?

the issue is they include bipocs and other poor people. the white, male top 1% in america lives forever. but you must be white, extremely wealth and male. otherwise your not living long

Food is a large part of it. Local, fresh, seasonal and cheap.

I pay at least 50% less for better quality food in Germany compared to my local farmer's market in the Midwest.

Eating out at restaurants is also a ton cheaper.

I can have an appetizer, main course and desert with a beer for less than $30.

That's very rare to find in the States, where you have a 70% of a restaurant being just pure shit.

Why is that chart using a nonsensical arbitrary definition of lifespan? Wealthy Americans live longer than even the median "European" in Western Europe let alone the poor. Also, poor countries in Eastern Europe have a median lifespan lower than the American median.

In reality, the welfare state increases "life expectancy" because people are being paid to lie about death. Of course, the journ*list doesn't question that because it confirms his biases. The idea that ambient welfare money magically makes wealthy people live longer is obviously absurd
