2024 I am forgotten

I'm feeling numb so please bear with me.

Last night my boyfriend of two years told me that his 16yo brother and his 16yo girlfriend are coming to visit and most likely will spend the night at his apartment.

I brought up that I have been feeling uncomfortable by the way he talks/interacts with her. It has been weighing on me for some time, and I was hoping for a conversation that will leave me feeling better, but what he said made me feel way worse.

He told me he does not think he gives her special treatment, but he is sexually attracted to her. This lead to a huge argument between us, the girl is 16?! He went on saying that he can guarantee me that every guy would feel the same, if they say otherwise they are either gay or lying. His exact words were "thousands upon thousands upon thousands of men would want to sleep with her".

As the conversation went on, he said that he is sexually attracted to every woman he passes, and I must be insane to think I am the only person he wants to sleep with.

He said "but that's what makes it special right? That I choose to only be with you". I don't know, this whole thing has completely changed the way I see him. I no longer want to have s*x with him. I can't imagine being with someone who wants to sleep with every woman he passes. How am I supposed to go out with him and interact with women in everyday life, knowing that he's thinking "yeah, I'd f*ck her" to every single one?

I am able to recognise other men are beautiful or attractive, but I'm definitely not sexually attracted to anyone outside of my relationship. He said I should find a way to accept and live with it, since all men are like that.

I feel like this is an extremely unhealthy dynamic for me. How should I proceed?

Props to the p-do boyfriend, the "it makes me wanting to be with you more special" is a solid attempt.

He is correct in that the belief that he'd only be physically attracted to you is naive on your part. I'll also point out that there is a difference between finding women attractive and pursuing them for a sexual encounter. It's also naive to believe that men or woman can't see attractiveness in someone who is younger than the age of consent. Again I point out the difference between attractiveness and the attempt to pursue for a sexual encounter.

Karsh

There's seeing beauty though and wanting to have s*x with a minor. Those are really different.

And not even being able to control it, to the point that your raw sexual desire for a kid is visible to others? Like the way he's behaving around her is making his gf uncomfortable? The guy should lock himself away tbh.

There is a difference between finding someone sexually attractive and wanting to have s*x with them.

Since we have no idea about what he acts like or if the GF is being rational in her perception its hard to pass a valid judgment.

That being said, even if we take her perception as the gold standard all you have minus the bias of colorful description is a guy that finds pretty girls attractive. There's no indication that he's pursuing anyone "underage" and in fact he points out that he chose her. This is not a case where he is pursuing anyone from anyone.

Karsh

First off, love the :marseyboomer: signing of a Reddit comment.

And I'm not surprised that half his posts are about interviewing for jobs in new industries. The guy defending the p-do is chronically unemployed.

It is normal for a man to feel sexually attracted to many women and it also not uncommon that a grown man feels sexual attraction towards a late teenager when they appear way more mature. We simply just dont extend that thought process if we are healthy and that happens. Men value youth and purity in women, like women value maturity and experience in men. This is just how it is. Your boyfriend is a moron obviously but he is not completely wrong factually.

Men value youth and purity in women,

Easy prey, you mean?

No, that is the loaded presumption feminists have about that topic and its wrong. While some men obviously are predators, most of us are not. The reason we are wired this way is complex but one of the aspects is simply put, our children have a higher chance of actually being ours.

What is our brave warrior against the :marseywitch2: menace like?

A little manly advice please.

So i struggle a little with following up on girls making a move on me... either because i believe they are just being friendly or because i do not want to seem creepy.

I'm a 6" tall Caucasian bachelor from germany in my early 30s with good career and fitness and i would say, overall attractive. On occasions i am being approached by women who ask for things or just strike a conversation with me. I am now finally smart enough to understand that this is indeed a sort of "invitation" - (took me way too long to figure that out, i know...)

Anyway, i am a timid person although not shy at all... but i can be socially a little awkward. Even when they obviously flirt with me or make excuses to touch me, i am not quite sure how to respond. Apparently, i have never had a healthy role-model if it comes to "boundaries" and what sort of "risk" is appropriate to cross them.

Biden :marseybiden: is back :marseywereback:. Last night was just a trick :marseyhoodwink: to make you guys underestimate him :marseybigbrain:

This is my President after a full nights sleep and a bucket of ice cream.

Where was this guy yesterday man? He was so much better here, even had the crowd chanting "frick him up" about Trump at one point. Bro is making this campaign hard on us.

This is my response when people say we should give up on Biden.

/r/Destiny Sub is in cope mode

https://old.reddit.com/r/Destiny/comments/1dqorv3/whick_is_still_ridin_with_biden/

I think what is good about this first debate is that Biden's team now know what needs to be improved for the second debate coming in September 10. It is certain we will see a different Biden then, and he will also have drank some dextromethorphan before the debate hopefully if he has a bad throat again. He just needs to hold good rallies and events where he speaks freely for now along with bringing awareness of his work as president and all the negatives about Trump. The Democrats have at least built a robust canvassing and voting assistance network in the whole country and have raised a lot of money.

This wasn't a knockout blow against Biden, and it can still be salvaged. At least Biden's team know where they stand. They can only improve.

Also Trump's sentencing in the hush money case is next month, and that will be very interesting to see if he gets actual jail time, or probation.

EFFORTPOST The State of the Race! Who's winning? What's the issues?

Reading Rdrama, it's become pretty clear that this dump is a rightoid circlejerk that's blind to what's actually happening in America, and I want to just spread the knowledge :marseybow:.

The first thing to handle: Am I biased? No - I'm a European (:marseybong:) that's neurodivergentally into American Presidential Politics, especially the Cold War era (Franklin Roosevelt to H.W Bush), and I'd wager I know more about every era then most Americans here. Not saying that to brag, it's just autism.

So the next thing to handle - the state of the race. Which Dementia Daddy is winning? It started of with Trump fricking destroying Slumbering Joseph, who has been facing declining approval ratings ever since the fall of Kabul (:marseysigh: America hates to see an anti-war president). This is despite the fact that America does not like Trump. This is simply a fact, Americans have never liked Trump. He didn't win the popular vote against Hillary Clinton, herself massively unpopular, or Joe Biden.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17193484115289927.webp

Let's compare starting approvals. Gallup gives W. Bush :marseybush: 57% approval at the start of his term, which skyrockets to 91% by 9/11 and ends at 28% when he leaves office. Obama :marseyobama: starts with 68%, getting a lowest approval rating of 42%. Even Sleepy Joe :marseybiden2: started with 55%. Donald Trump :marseyhitler:? He started with 45% approval. That would peak at 49%, and would average at 41%. Please, I implore you to forget that you're a rightoid and accept a basic fact - Trump is not personally liked by Americans. They think he's a loudmouth butthole who's attitude is unfit for office, and during his term 59% of the public didn't like him. So, a Sleepy Joe sweep, right?

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17193484121361341.webp

Biden started popular enough. He was basically an Obama third term, and Obama was massively popular. He was very old, the pic above is a newspaper reporting Nixon being re-elected while Biden unseats an incumbent, which was a concern, but people generally liked him.

That would change fairly swiftly. Inflation from the Covid spending :marseyballoon2:, under Trump lmao, caught up with America and inflation became rampant. Joe Biden had been elected on a promise of being a boring cracker who could let people forget about politics for a while, an elder statesman who would handle everything. He was already being blamed for the economy, but then there was the pull-out. Despite it being awesome, America finally stops wasting money on that shithole, Americans were horrified by the images it produced. His approval ratings sank like a rock and disapproval ratings soared.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17193484129084685.webp

The "Joe Biden is too old to lead" stuff went from a Republican talking point to basically accepted fact. The public was promised a boring statesman they could forget about it, and they're seeing global chaos and inflation - which has gotten back to decent rates, but since the only way prices will go down is through a recession, no one thinks it has. I mean yeah you have dipshit shooters like Will Stancil, but that's about it. So, Drumpf sweep right?

Yes and no. Despite Biden's massive unpopularity, the Red Wave promised for 2022 was barely a red drizzle - the Trump Republicans were so massively unpopular, the Democrats managed to narrowly expand a Senate majority, unseated 3 incumbent governors and Republicans only got 9 seats from the 435 seats up for election in 2022. The public hated Joe Biden, but the Democrats weren't unpopular. However, that doesn't change the fact that Joe Biden is unpopular.

Turns out deplatforming works, hooray! With Trump, he became less of a man and more of an idea. Yeah, Trump was an butthole - but prices were low and the world was at peace. (Incidentally, ask anyone who thinks this how exactly Trump will do this again and watch them not answer you.) America has always loved it's Dirty Harrys and Dr. Houses - take no shit buttholes who get results. Trump, away from the spotlight and with Biden viewed with contempt, was poised to crush Biden. That was until;

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17193484130279193.webp

Some rightoids have tried to spin this, arguing the public doesn't care that Trump paid hush money to his mistress. They're on the right line of thinking, but they're overestimating the public's knowledge. They don't know what Trump did, and they don't care. Trump went from butthole they don't like to Convicted Criminal(tm) - a massive step up. They have faith in the institutions, they think whatever the verdict is, it's fair, and while they could hold their nose to vote for the butthole that made prices low, they can't do it for a Convicted Criminal(tm).

Biden's popularity hasn't change. They still think he's a senile idiot that shouldn't be in office - but he's not a Convicted Criminal(tm). For contrast, NeoCon-Nikki Haley has pulled anything from 4% to 13% over Joe Biden. While the highest results were obvious bullshit, the pattern is there. If Biden didn't have to run against Trump, he would get his butt paddled.

So, two massively unpopular old men are running against each other. One is a criminal nobody has ever liked, the other is a senile r-slur. Who wins?

https://i.rdrama.net/images/171934841342594.webp

Frick knows mate. Trump leads in some key swing states, like Arizona and Michigan, but his sheer unpopularity following the conviction has led to these being narrow leads. Worse still, the Biden Campaign has about $100 million more then the Trump Campaign, so some targeted ads could ruin Trump. If I had to goomble, and I do :marseygambling:, I would put money on Biden winning. The warchest advantage will be the difference maker, but I wouldn't be surprised if Trump won.

Personally, I'm rooting for Biden winning while losing the popular vote :marseypipe:. I think the Rightoid outrage after 2016 would be funny.

Thanks for reading my longpost :marseyshy3: I promise there's no agenda :marseyblush:

We are dead. It's just a matter of time until we get a president who abuses these unlimited powers. If Trump loses, sooner or later one will.

Only 1 solution: Congress passes a law fixing this

My proposal.

Biden calls an emergency State of the Union.

He makes the following short speech.

"Today is a dark day for America. The President has absolute immunity and the Courts must presume him innocent, even for unofficial acts, and cannot examine his motives. So say THESE people (points to Supremes).

We are going to see an awful but necessarily example of this here tonight. But just once.

(At this point all doors close and armed marshals take up position at each door)

By my command, nobody will leave this room until Congress passes a law irrevocably fixing this, specifying the President NO LONGER HAS THIS POWER.

We have the House here, and the Senate. When you pass that law, I will sign it, here tonight. But first I am calling a non-voluntary meeting of the Supreme Court, here, tonight to pass judgment on the law so that it cannot be appealed. You (again points at Supremes) are forbidden to leave too.

Once that is done, I will sign that law and you will be free to go, but until that moment, I have absolute power to keep you here, so say THEY!

Then, having used this horrible authority just ONCE, and for the sole purpose of abolishing itself, my dictatorship will end and I will be going back to President.

it's like they watched a handful of episodes of the west wing but don't really understand the political process so it comes across more as michael scott "i declare a dictatorship!" vibes

This statement Zelenskyy over a month ago

Then week later this happened

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17197841134231663.webp

So by Zelenskyy statement Russian lost 1000 soldiers in Kharkiv direction every day so how the frick did Ukraine not only didn't managed to recapture that territory but also even lost some. By Zelenskyy words 14k Russian troops shouldn't been wiped out like 3 times now.

@Szia_uram can you explain me the math behind it ? I mean we could simply suggest that Zelenskyy lying but that would been wrong, Zelenskyy wouldn't ever lie, right ?

https://twitter.com/maks_nafo_fella/status/1807404977754693710

Zelenskyy also basically declared war and ready to talk with Russia and Putin.

So many things looks comical now from this lentectual about how Ukraine laws forbids talk with Putin Russia how Zelenskyy will haw election or how Ukraine doesn't trade with Russia

So how will Zelenskyy an illegitimate guy talk with legal and officially recognised by all countries mr Putin, if Ukrainian laws forbids Zelenskyy ? Easy you use Ukrainian laws to wipe your butt. :marseykneel:

But most insiders saying Zelenskyy will be axed in next 8 months or so.

January 2024

Brittany Pietsch was several months into her role as an AE (Account Executive) at Cloudflare, when she got the dreaded 15-minute meeting calendar invite with two strangers from HR. :marseysuit: :marseysuit:

She wasn't the only one receiving those invites that day. Her "work bff" had received a similar invite 30 mins and was laid off, and she let Brittany know what was going on. :marseygossipsmug:

Brittany then proceeded to do what any white woman with a pulse and a TikTok account would do - turned on her camera and took the call on speaker.

She put up a good fight, but ultimately, was unsuccessful in the face of unwavering corpo-speak and acknowledgment of feelings. For her, it would be the biggest moment of her life. For the two corporate HR executioners, it was Friday.

She then posted the video to TikTok where she got at least 2.6 million views (TikTok is scary and confusing, it looks like she posted it twice, one with 1.something million views and another with 2.6). Warning - it's like 8mins long

In addition to this, she ended up on Reddit:

The comments are mostly as you'd expect. A majority of "stick it to the man" / "you go girl" with a (controversial) minority of "hmmm this may not be the best strategy".

The CloudFlare co-founder came out and posted some corpo-speak on X in response:

We fired ~40 sales people out of over 1,500 in our go to market org. That's a normal quarter. When we're doing performance management right, we can often tell within 3 months or less of a sales hire, even during the holidays, whether they're going to be successful or not. Sadly, we don't hire perfectly. We try to fire perfectly. In this case, clearly we were far from perfect. The video is painful for me to watch. Managers should always be involved. HR should be involved, but it shouldn't be outsourced to them, No employee should ever actually be surprised they weren't performing. We don't always get it right. And sometimes under performing employees don't actually listen to the feedback they've gotten before we let them go. Importantly, just because we fire someone doesn't mean they're a bad employee. It doesn't mean won't be really, really great somewhere else. Chris Paul was a bad fit for the Suns, but he's undoubtedly a great basketball player. And, in fact, we think the right thing to do is get people we know are unlikely to succeed off the team as quickly as possible so they can find the right place for them. We definitely weren't anywhere close to perfect in this case. But any healthy org needs to get the people who aren't performing off. That wasn't the mistake here. The mistake was not being more kind and humane as we did. And that's something @zatlyn and I are focused on improving going forward.

Of course, with the sentiment of the internet behind her, on TikTok, LinkedIn and Reddit, the world was Brittany's oyster. No doubt she'd be fielding offers left and right for rest of her life.

________________________________________________________________

Present Day - June 2024

Apparently, things did not go as planned for Brittany, with her making this post on LinkedIn yesterday:

I feel embarrassed to be posting this, but desperate times as they say.

It's been almost 6 months since I was laid off, and I am at my wit's end. The amount of conversations, interviews, presentations, and research I've done for companies I will never work for is beyond what I could have imagined.

4+ rounds of interviews for no job offer, and no feedback except "we loved you, but there was another candidate who just had a bit more experience". Or "you interviewed great, but you're just missing one small piece in your background". And then I will see the same hiring managers or recruiters continue to post the job postings on their LinkedIn page. I don't understand! You have an awesome candidate right here, with natural relationship building and sales aptitude, begging to work for your company and willing to put in the time and effort to understand and sell your product.

Discouraging, disheartening, exhausting, scary, frustrating. All words to describe this process and what I've felt every single day. I feel like giving up.

When the video went viral, I received literally thousands of "I would hire you in a heartbeat" or "any company would be lucky to have you" messages. Yet when it comes down to it, it has been the opposite.

6 months of no income has now begun to put me in a scary financial situation, and I am asking my network for help.

I may have gaps in my resume, and I may have short stints at my previous companies, but that does not deter my ability to be a kickass sales rep. As an account executive on your team, I will be beyond driven, tenacious, organized, curious, a sponge, resilient, and will become a top performer on your team. All I need is a chance to prove it. #opentowork #sales #accountexecutive

The sales bros over at /r/Sales take some time out of their busy days of telling their SDRs to do their outbound cadences and snorting lines of cocaine to discuss:

Honestly, looking at her resume, she didn't seem qualified for that role in the first place.

Honestly the biggest issue is, you already know she will post something negative on LinkedIn if she is unhappy, and people will stand up and take notice.

It's not fair, but it's a bit like hiring someone who has a gun to your head... And HR departments likely wouldn't allow it if they do even a little research.

It sucks a lot for her.

I wonder if the "you're doing so well" boss was just another scrote trying to close in a different sort of way? :marseymanysuchcases:

Definitely somewhat main character vibes as someone else alluded to. Voicing your opinions/feelings on LinkedIn about not landing a job in what is most probably one of the toughest job markets today is fair. But considering that you have also previously posted a layoff video ranting on the employer on another social media platform, this being Tiktok, it doesn't take a hiring manager long to connect the dots as to what this person could be as an employee. Having employees or colleagues who dare to voice their opinions is great and every workplace needs that to some degree but it's so easy to fall into the trap of being opinionated and that for sure doesn't look good if you go about displaying that type of behaviour on LinkedIn. At the end of the day it's a balancing act and I hope she gets the job she's applying to.

I had some friends get fired on the same hiring call as her. They all felt the same way, but most of them were smart enough to keep their heads down and go get other jobs.

Have they landed somewhere?

Most of them, yeah. A lot took a step back career-wise.

Still, not a step back to LinkedIn rants. I've reset careers so many times, but it's better than sitting at home (most days).

Wow, there's a need for qualified sales people. I have no idea where she worked or what she posted. Was it so bad to blackball her?

She recorded herself being laid off, and then blasted her employer on LinkedIn. That's a dumb move.

Plus she says herself she has gaps and multiple short stints on her resume. Her actions + her resume paint a story that she's the problem, and an employee you don't want.

Also in her video she says she worked full time for 4 months without closing a single deal and still talks about how amazing her "performance" was. She doesn't appear to be a competent sales person if the only information you have about her is what was said there.

So I went and looked at her profile, and honestly I think she just needs a reality check. From a post 1 month ago-

"After taking a few months off of my job search to mentally process how suddenly different and overwhelming my life became following the viral video of me getting laid off, I'm now back on my search and quickly remembering how tough and discouraging it is."

Granted I'm sure having your video go viral is a little crazy at first, but I guarantee she thought that was her golden ticket to millions. No way you take a "few months" off to process a video going viral, unless you were trying to cash in on everything you could during that time. Took her a few months to learn she's not actually special, still broke, and still unemployed lol

Absolutely dingus move on her part to post that video for her 15 minutes of fame, I called it from the start.

I don't know her personally but what she did is an hr nightmare and the fact she takes no accountability for that is just pouring gasoline on the fire. It's way too big of a risk for a hiring manager to stick their neck out for the "girl who posted her layoff on TikTok with a really shitty attitude."

It's the lack of introspection for me.

"Driving revenue at Cloudflare" on your LinkedIn headline despite never having closed a deal. How am I supposed to trust what you say in an interview if you're already dramatizing verifiable details.

And that's just the head of several other major issues.

Least dishonest LinkedIn headline

Lotta egged centrist takes too :hmm:

To be fair, it could also just be that both candidates look like they just saw a cloak and scythe.

--

would be very funny if one of them gave the other covid and they both kicked the bucket before the election

--

I've been thinking that too but for both of them.

--

The only good news here is that the rot at the center of US misleadership has now been revealed for all the world to see.

There is also, of course, a lot of exactly what you'd expect from ZCC:

My guess is we'll never hear if he actually tests positive. Someone helping with the campaign views discussing Covid as an economic and therefore political liability, so they feed him lots of Paxlovid prophylactically behind the scenes and pretend everything is fine to the public. When Biden was sick he received more than twice (10 days worth of) the amount of Paxlovid that we did despite the potential side effects for liver of taking it that long. We also know that when Trump got it, he had access to non-standard treatment at the time as well(I believe it was monoclonal antibody-bodies but I can't remember). And I think when Biden's wife got Covid there's no way he wasn't exposed, my guess is they have Paxlovid readily available at all times. If he actually gets sick he will magically disappear from news coverage for a few weeks until he's feeling 100%.

--

They're both terrible, but at least one of them isn't a convicted felon.

--

I think they're about to make it illegal to think about consequences.

It might lead to demanding action to avoid consequences

--

It's just a regular summer cold. /s

Shame on him for continuing to ignore and downplay covid. At this point I highly doubt he is the one governing the country.
